Ok...I was playing the lowest stake no limit hold em table at poker.com last night and I was holding my own. I just won a good size pot not to long ago. One time I was dealt A,K. So, I raise from .04 to .08. One player A raised it to .08, player B called, and player C raised it to .12. Now, it's back to me. I figure I'm up against three players so I go all in (which was about $1.39) to scare some player away and increase my odds of winning. They all call. Here's how it went:

T1riel A, K
Player A: J, J
Player B: A, Q
Player C; Q, 9

I figure I'm in good shape. The only one I was concerned with was Player A but all I need was a King or Ace with no Jacks coming up. The Flop:

K, J, J.

Player A won just on the flop. I couldn't believe it. I think it was kind of dub to go all in with A, K with two raises per-flop. What would you have done if you were in my position?

Maybe you should have folded, but I can definitely see your strategy, and think it's pretty solid. What I want to know is: what the hell is Player C doing? Of course Player A had good reason to call, and maybe even Player B (although I think I may have folded AQ in that situation, putting the others on AK or high pocket pair), but sometimes the cards just don't go your way. I think I probably would have played it the same way...maybe I'm wrong too? LOL

How can player C raise? Cos it's 12 cents.
I go all in (which was about $1.39) to scare some player away - No, $1.39 is not scary.

I dont know why anyone would play at these levels. Whats raising from 4 cents to 8 cents going to achieve? I dont think you can control betting or analyse opponents at that level.

- MINRAISING IS BAD. YOU ARE ACHIEVING NOTHING BY MINRAISING PREFLOP IN NLHE. STOP IT. :)

- The players at .04/.08 will be so bad you have no need to take coinflips, as you can exploit big advantages if you're a halfway decent player as opposed to being 45% vs 55% to win. Yeah this is more tournament strategy than ring game strategy, but it still applies somewhat when you're playing awful players.
