I disagree here rob, you can't allow him to make his draw with a bet giving him odds to call, to get the most value for the hand you have to make a reraise large enough so that it makes him think and if he calls and misses the draw, his mistake and your laughing.
You have to give the villian the opportunity to make a mistake, don't play it weak just in case he does hit just to save yourself a few bucks because if you put out a bet small enough giving him odds to call and he doesn't hit, then the hand is virtually dead right there and there is no amount of bet that you put in after the river that will get a call, because at that point villian will know he is beat.
