This hand violates many basic poker principles, most importantly: Don't play a marginal hand out of position for a huge pot.

I want to talk about it though because it's interesting.
Take a look.

What analysis do you want?

Either you won at the river or you lost or you tied.

Any reads on villain? you're turning your hand into a big bluff and bluffs are totally read dependent.

I ended up losing this hand but it's one of my favorites because I was able to sort through the information I had and make the right decision.

I haven't been at this table long but villain is very aggressive postflop and he never folds to a raise when he's on the button in the few orbits I've seen since getting here.

Flop:
I represented a hand preflop and now I actually have one, so I bet. Villain reraises me, and if I had thought longer about the hand here, I would have reraised him and probably taken it down then. Raising > calling, esp. with marginal hands.

Turn:
The turn pairs my seven, which doesn't really change anything. I check to see what he does. He makes about a 2/3-pot sized bet. Now I really tank here...

His play makes no sense whatsoever. He should three-bet preflop with almost any pair higher than the board. If he has a monster like trip 8s or 66/77 (which are both unlikely since I have the case 7/6), I think he would have just smooth-called the flop most of the time.

The strongest hand I can put him on is MAYBE A6 or 97. What else can he have? some weird draw...75...I came to the conclusion that at least 95 percent of his range is total air here. If you think about it, the flop is so stupid that an aggressive button SHOULD reraise with air almost all the time here.

Even the most aggressive players aren't double-barreling here with no outs...I decided maybe the 7 helped him, giving him a straight draw. I concluded he had to have A9 or J9.

This was a totally cool moment, I felt like I had a Phil Hellmuth soul read and I KNEW my hand was good, and shoved all-in. He took a long time but finally called, flipped Q9 and hit the straight on the river.
