Or at least I feel like one...

I thought he was trying to buy the pot as the last hand I was in with him I let him value bet into me on the flop and turn and then I pot sized bet to him on the river which made him fold.

I suppose I should have sat back and thought about what he had. He could have easily been playing J9 which would have landed him two pair...or even 79 would have beaten me as well.

IMHO you're bets are too weak, especially your turn bet. You have to charge the draws more. Opponents minraise should have shut you down on such a draw heavy board. At these stakes the minraise is usually a made hand's poor attempt to inflate the pot w/o driving away the opponent and unfortunately in this case it worked.

I'm not sure I like the preflop raise, your putting yourself in a raised pot out of position with a trouble hand. I'd just complete this here and bet about close to pot on the flop. No sense going broke over this hand, you have top pair 3rd kicker, probably just best to give up if you get too much resistance, people bluff a lot less than you probably think.

the moment he min raises you need to fold imo. I cant see someone min raising with a hand that you beat. Once you call the min raise however, check/call the turn they fold to a big river bet if unimproved
