$25 NLHE 9-handed.
I have $25 and get dealt JJ, one raise in front of me to $0.80 and I reraise to $2.70. We're heads up and the flop comes 8c 4c 7d and then he checks, I bet $3.50 into the $5.65 pot, then he shoves $23.70 and I have $18.10 left to call. Would you call or fold here?

What would get him to raise PF?

One whole school of thought has it that any PP is worth a raise PF. So he could be sitting on a set here. Or he could have an over pair, not only to the board, but to your hand.

He could be straight from the mental ward, and be holding 56.

So all of a sudden your JJ doesn't look so good. It may be your hand is best at this time, but something got villains attention and his big bet.

Not worth calling your whole stack with till you get some reads.

Agree. A CRAI here is either a pure bluff or you're crushed. Without a read, I think this is probably a clear fold. It looks a lot like a set to me.

Without any other special read I'm probably folding JJ here, there's just too many hands that it's behind to make it worthwhile.

I agree with the other posters
Assuming you have no reads on him,and he has no reads on you it looks like a set or a big pair
Theres a chance he may have pair 10's or 9's or even Ac7c but he would have to be pretty loose to push.
If I held AA or KK I would have re raised your reraise but then again with a set I would bet less to price out the flush draw.
I'm not an experienced no limit cash player but I think I'm beat and I'm folding

You have all the information that you need here. You raise pre-flop and get 3-bet. Without reads you can narrow his range to AK AQ(sometimes) or the big pairs, so you call.

The flop is favourable for a JJ type hand, so you need to ask him "has he got the over-pair", so you bet. He tells you "Yup, got it", so you fold.

Your beating very little that plays like this, note his flop shove, and open up you pre-flop range against him a little, he'll stack relatively easily, on a good flop.

fyi I actually see QK and AK do this a lot, albeit in tournaments, and from LAG players. Against anyone with half a brain it's probably a fold though, as they've either got a set or QQ+.

I think you have to fold. Unless he's pushed with low-quality hands beforem it's not worth the risk

Obviously reads dependent, but this has to be a fold more often that not. I usually 4-table so I have to take a lot of my reads based on stats from PAHUD. Occasionally I call a push here with JJ and QQ if his stats are manic, but even then they turn over an overpair or set which pisses me off no end.

Pretty easy fold if you have a solid image and he's not a lunatic. FWIW I'd think twice about calling with AA or KK here too. With Jacks you're beating two real hands: 99 and TT, and that's it. Even if you're not drawing to two outs and he's semi-bluffing, your equity won't be very good.
