The check/call on the flop was quite weak, as was the preflop raise (only 3x BB). Getting your money in with the best hand is always what you want, so the turn is fine.

The only thing I'd question is sitting at a $50 table with $10. It limits your losses, but if he hadn't hit the Q you could have won a lot more.

Either move down to a more comfortable limit, or make sure you know how to employ short stack buyin strategies.

You were 85% favourite to win the hand when you put all your chips in. this is where you want to be.

You do not want to avoid this situation you want to create it/find it as often as you can.

every time you find yourself in this situation you want all your ( and there ) money in the middle.

if you do this You know that 85 times out of a hundred you will win double your money.

anyone who does this often will be a long time winner and will forget about the 15 times that you get beat.

( that said the call on the flop is not good IMO )

As said by others, mistakes in your play or not, you got the result you wanted. You got all the money in the pot with the best hand. That's all you can ask for. The only 3 hands that have you beat is KK, K6, and KJ. You called, you were ahead, and the other guy got lucky. Just be thankful you weren't sitting with $50, but know that in the long run if you play that hand with the max amount the same way again and again you win a lot of money.

I would have reraised him $6 on flop to see if he really has a King.
If he calls, when the turn J card comes I would push $100 if I have it. :D

why do you guys say the call on the flop is bad??? By raising the flop we push out worse hands than ours and keep hands that are beating us in. The only thing that calls a raise is a hand with a King in it. I thought the whole hand was played well.

By calling the flop raise you are commiting 20-25% of you stack in the hope that they do not have a King or an overpair.

If they bet again are you going to call for the remaining stack?

If they do not bet again are you going to push your remaining $7 into $8 pot in the Hope that they do not have a king?

I think its fine to "float" if you are deep stacked and have the image and the equity needed to force people off the hand later - in this case I do not think you have this.

This is why I do not think its a great play as basically you are leading yourself down a path where the only time that you are not "hoping" is if you hit one of your 2 outs on the turn. I try not to "hope" to much ina cash game.

I don't really think too strongly of the play preflop and on the flop, but you couldn't have gotten away from it with jacks full on the turn. Especially when you've got 1/2 your chips in and the 4th nuts or something

Because you short bought, there was absolutely no way you could have won this hand, unless you had pushed everyone out of the hand preflop.

The way it was played, absolutely not, you can't get away from it. It really isn't that much of a question, pretty clear cut to me.
