I usually check/call my triple/sets when I see a flush card appear on the turn/river. But I find I only run into a flush about 1/3 of the time in these situations, am I missing out on extra bets by not 3rd-betting it? Or is it better to play it safe?

Here's the hand history with names changed, as I'm not supposed to be posting them for some reason:

It's not often you find someone stupid enough to bet the river with a pair of queens with that board. Most of the time when you check villan will gladly check behind, or should anyway.

In answer to your question, yes bet. If you are reraised just call. If you are going to call a bet anyway, you might as well bet. Long term it will make you more money to bet than to check here. And playing limit is about the long term.

Either bet or check/raise the river (with my preference being betting), but don't check/call. Leading the river is a much clearer decision than whether or not to raise preflop from the SB. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that you were wrong to raise - I'm just putting it in perspective. If you had a tricky decision in this hand, it was preflop. Postflop, the action should have gone bet/bet/bet.
