Can you guys help me analyze my cash game stats for 2000 hands? Wondering how they compare to other peoples stats and just what people think about them. They're from bodog, the stats tab they have below the chat window.

Hands won: 24%
Showdowns won: 55%
Flops seen: 55%
Win % if see the flop: 35%

Your Actions:
Fold: 30%
Check 28%
Call: 23%
Bet: 9%
Raise 9%
Re-raise 1%

When You Fold:
Pre-flop: 40%
Flop: 17%
Turn: 7%
River: 4%
No fold: 32%

I just started playing online after taking about a 2 1/2 year break. I still played a lot of live poker in casinos and home games during that time, just wasn't liking online.
I bought in for $30 and am around $115 atm playing mainly .05/.10 NL Hold'em. I find the table with the least amount of players or start my own when I play and usually leave when it fills up. Any thoughts on this would be helpful to improve; good, bad or neutral. Thanks for the input.

they appear to be weak stats in my opinion. These are the reasons why.

1) youve seen 55% flops, that is a LOT of flops sounds like your playing too many hands. Unless your getting good hands every hand.

2) You call more than double the amount you raise, that seems like weak chasing draws play. That also means you are hardly ever raising pre flop which is weak, if you have a hand worth playing raise with it to build the pot and to become the aggressor in the hand. This also means you must be check calling with hands and since your winning 24% of hands, you are losing money by not putting more in the pot

3) 32% of the time your not folding and therefore are seeing showdown. That seems like a lot of hand (based on other stats) that were checked down where if you had been agressive and bet out you could have won

Overall You need to pick your starting hands better and not be so loose, than also be aggressive when you do come into a pot. That is the general tight-aggressive play which is usually most profitable, you are currently playing loose-passive which is one of the worst, im not really sure how your winning much money playing that game style.

I gotta agree with switch here. Seeing 55% of flops is just insanity!

Consider poker hands like an investment. Why invest chips on hands like 2s7s? Sure, they have the possibility of getting you a flush draw, but so does AsKs! Tighten up preflop. Even the loosest of good LAGs that I play with only play ~35% of hands at most.

The reason I'm seeing so many flops is because I'm usually playing short handed. I raise almost every time I decided to play a hand (obviously that's quite often) and because of this I find myself getting re-raised a lot, but it's usually a min re-raise and I'm forced to call with any two cards in that spot.

Ex. 3 handed, I'm on button with 7-9 and raise to .40. I'll get re-raised by BB to .70 more often then one would think, and for .30 more how can I fold? I think that's where a lot of the call % is coming from.

I'm actually and extremely aggressive player, and that's one of the reasons why I leave a table once it gets to 8 or 9 handed. I HATE full ring games with a passion.

I don't fold a lot because if I hit a pair I'm usually good. Either one of two things happens as far as people reacting to my play.

1) They tighten way up and I take down a ton of pre-flop hands or they call/fold to a flop bet

2) They get hyper aggressive, and start massively over betting

Both are easy to take advantage of.

(Sorry, this turned into a strategy thing then more of an analysis)

Another reason I like to call river bets is because I want people to know that I'll call with almost anything. I like people seeing my hands and thinking, "wtf is this guy doing?." I don't do this a lot, just at the start of a game. Plus it's nice to know what people are willing to bet the river with and for how much.

Just some explanations and in site.

Why do you hate full ring games so much?

It's really easy to take advantage of me in a full ring game. Because I'm so loose just sitting back in a full game and just letting me destroy myself is the best way to play me.
I know how to play TAG, I just find it so boring and I play poker because it's fun, not to be bored out of my mind.

I think this isnt entirely true, if you were as agrresive as you say you were you raise percentage would be a lot higher than 9%. As for above, its easy not to call a re raise on the basis you have 9 high.

I think its more a case of your limping with 9,7 thinking hey they are pretty close i could hit a straight, then arent hitting anything and are checking it down.

Hands won: 24%
Showdowns won: 55% Very high stat, sample size is relatively small maybe thats why. Especially if your playing an aggressive game.
Flops seen: 55% Very High even for shorthanded games.
Win % if see the flop: 35%

Your Actions:
Fold: 30% I think this is fine is your raising enough.
Check 28% Semi bluff more, C-Bet more.
Call: 23% See above
Bet: 9% WAY to low for a 6max player.
Raise 9% See above.
Re-raise 1% This IMO is one of your worst stats, 3-betting in shorthanded games is where most of your profits come from. . See your example with the 9x hand above. Put a little more pressure on, this stat tells me you only 3betting AA and KK. Mine is way higher than that and thats full ring.

When You Fold:
Pre-flop: 40%
Flop: 17%
Turn: 7%
River: 4%
No fold: 32%

Apart from that, its really difficult to comment further. If your a semi serious player, you can get PT and an attachment for bodog (or so im told) and you can get some proper stats for some comments on. Stop calling as much, semi bluff a little more, and review you 3betting ranges.

I think I'm going to get a real poker stats tracker so I can get some more in depth data on how I play. Everybody's telling me I'm not betting/raising enough but I know I do it all the time. I'll come back with those stats after about 2k more hands and see if there's a difference.

we aren't telling you that, you provided the stats that told us that. Play more than 2k hands before looking at your sample, id say its still a bit too small, id wait until you have over 4k hands. Just my opinion, others might say its a fine size

The toughest part of trying to comment is the varied table size. Most people stick to 9 max, or 6 max, and that's their perspective for viewing whether stats are high or low. I don't know anyone that regularly plays the way that you do in terms of table sizes. TB probably plays the widest variety, so I'd recommend his advice.

If 50% of your hands are 2 or 3 handed, that's a different situation than if 50% of your hands are 5 handed or more. A statistical program would help break that down a bit more.

i dont think you can really analyze your stats with at least at a bare minimum 10k hands, 20k would be better.

Why so many?? Because over 2k hands you could be getting alot of good cards and your amount of bad luck vs good luck hasnt been given the chance to even out and show the skill factor that is making you your'e profit.
