Ok so i took a few beats so im a little more aggressive than usual put playing good tripled up from where i was after loosing a few stupid pots with one loose donk and i get this hand.

The guy in it seems respectable no maniac pretty conservative player, well i thought so. IM just so pissed off as i havnt had a sicko hand like this for a fair bit of money for a while. Even thought i knew he might have hit im still not folding just your thoughts please. BTW he quickly left after the hand.

I don't play those levels, so I don't think I'm qualified to give an analysis.
But what I do on those types situations when there is a draw and I know I'm ahead with the set, I usually push all-in to try to chase any draws out.
As i see it, I want to let an opponent know, by the size of my bet(all-in), that I'm holding the nuts right there and its going to cost them alot to catch their draw.
BTW, why did you check on such a draw heavy flop?

Preflop I think you gave a pretty clear indication of a big pair, and with the Ace on the flop you gave him some reason that maybe you were afraid of the Ace (KK/QQ/JJ) so you gave him additional reason to bet at the flop to represent an Ace himself.

I dunno, your CR gave him pretty slim odds, but the only reason for him to call preflop with his hand is the chance to stack you, and with the draw there his chance is still there. I guess he just figures his implied odds are still worth it.
