Just curious what you all think if you are playing a ring gamem blinds 1$ 2$, and you just win a 150 dollar pot against someone heads up, then the very next hand u raise A Q to $12 preflop, and the same guy you just beat goes all in with 200$, basically what i had after winning the last hand is it worth calling, he could always have a pocket pair or ak, or just 2 live cards like 10 j that can just beat me what would u do?

Well first of all, we don't know any history between you two other than you won a 150$ pot off this guy. Now my question is why in the world do you raise to 12$ with AQ especially heads up, I mean do you want the guy to fold and you get no action? (On a side note, I don't know any history between you two and if that was just an intentional move)

As for your question, its possible this guy is thinking you are "bullying" him and is pushing with any two live cards, personally yea I would call since I know there aren't many hands that got me dominated and I also know I can handle getting sucked out on, not tilt afterwards and still play my game.

So things to consider before you call, are you willing to risk this much on one hand? do you have this guy figure out where you can outplay him postflop? do you think he will stay if you fold this hand or he will leave? I mean to some of those questions there is no definite answer but that's what I would be thinking personally.

If you're worried about getting donked out, be it from not raising enough or from being against live cards, drop down and play lower limits. You should never be afraid to lose what's in front of you to a bad beat.

That said the original hand I snap-call with no history. There are 4 hands in the deck that dominate us, 3 of which are less likely because of our holdings and 3 of which we actually have a pretty solid 3 outs. If there's history and you think he may be decent and trying to level you into calling with AA then you can fold but most people don't 3-bet shove premium hands, they 3-bet shove hands they want to get folds.

Also ring game implies that it is not a tourney. There are HU ring games so HU and ring games are not mutually exclusive.

bob_tiger also brought up an important point that I think only applies to HU in that if you think an opponent will hit and run you should pass up near coin flips in favor of a later edge. This is not the case in 6max because if you don't take the small edge one of the other 4 at the table probably will pretty soon.

So yeah I snapcall, but as I said if you're worried about JT sucking out you're playing in too big a game. Drop down a level or two imo.
