Not sure if you noticed...but this is the incorrect forum to post a hand history...just a heads up.

I would fold...thinking he's got two pair or pocket a pair of A's or K's..possibly something better...and only raised you b/c of the possible flush/straight draw on flop...it's hard to tell since I have no idea who or how stiemb plays, but I think you made a good play, but then again, I'm folding everything lately.

You weren't getting the right odds to call even if the 3 aces were outs. On the flop you had ace high, villan told you twice he had you beat, what are you waiting for.

Once being the raise and twice the bet out? No difference that I had straight and flush draw?
I'll tell you now I suck at odds, am trying to work at it though.....

Freak,

download and print this chart:

http://www.texasholdem-poker.com/od...ormat=odds_against&decimals=2&Display=Display

I keep one beside my monitor while playing for reference. I know I don't have to explain how pot odds work to you, but if you want to catch up then read the article by FP which explains it very well. They're a pain in the ass at first, but with practice it will come. Trust me. :)

All you do is look at the pot amount (chips in middle + any bets in front of you). That number is usually calculated by the site itself; it'll say Pot: 1500 or whatever. Then just compare that to the bet to you, and simplify it. So if there's $4 in the middle, and a guy is betting $2 to you, then there's $6 in the pot, and it's $2 to you. So 6:2 or 3:1. That's generally good enough for most draws if you're including any money you can make on later streets (ie implied odds).

In your hand, I think it's an easy fold. On the flop he's telling you he has your hand beat, but gives you great odds (30c into 1.75 = almost 6:1) to draw. I call the flop and check the turn. If he bets enough to give me bad odds (which he does here; 1.80 into 3.85 => 2.1:1) then I'm dumping it. You do have a big draw now, but he's betting too much for you to draw. he probably won't pay you off either if the fourth diamond hits so I just toss it.

Thanks Chuck, I actually have the chart.....just need to learn how to use it better......I'm going to take a break now, until the Freak tourney, PS has been dealing me some bad beats today......even when I have the cards I'm not getting the pots.

actually looks to me like he semibluffed you on the flop and made his flush on the turn with something like a suited connector in diamonds.

edit: could also be a misplayed set.

It looks to me that he has post this in the perfect place for a HH, is this not the analysis section and in order to answer the Question we do need the HH to analyze the situation he's asking for, Am I wrong?

And to answer the question, when I'm in your place I dont chase cards with '1 over' past the 2xBB mark,(but thats only me and my style)when the odds of catchin the A,Q or 2 running daimonds are low.
Not a good call on the flop.

It was moved by DM to this section, wsorbust was kind enough to point out my error......
