Hey guys, need your opinion on a hand that ill try and recreate for you.

100NL, Hero is in cutoff and Villain on Button, both with about 100BB stacks.

I get dealt pocket aces, everyone folds and i raise 4BB. Villain re-raises from button to 12BB.

I have a pretty strong note/read on player that he likes to reraise button frequently against one raiser, with any pretty looking cards (medium suited connectors, middle pairs, 2 paints, decent aces,......) Also have a note that hell fold whenever played back at. I noted a hand where he re-raised and folded to a minirereraise. So i decide to slowplay the aces and just call.

FLop comes up pretty bad, jack-ten-nine (rainbow).

What is your plan for the rest of the hand?

(if checked to he'll almost always pot it)

Check and when he pots it, push and pray. Your only other choice is to fold your AA. You really should have raised it once more preflop to define his hand more clearly and make your all-in decision easier on the flop.

I agree with re raising pre flop and just taking it down there and then. But on that flop, i check fold most likely. I know its very weak but that is hte exact type of flop callers will hit. This flop is the only flop i dont c bet on along with q,j,t. since most preflop callers have hands in ths region. If you lead out and he re raises then what? If you lead out and he calls then what? On this flop i would be wiling to let it go. I know its a weak play but i think its best

I don't lay it down here if I know my opponent is aggressive and will bet the pot regardless of his hand if checked to. IMO, your losing too much value playing it out this way. Yes, sometime we'll stack off playing it this way but against this villain I willing to take that risk.

you have one pair. hes a crazy player from the button. so any flop is dangerous as he could have anything. already 12bbs in the pot, reraise, take it down and move on to the next hand.

I know that its better to win small than lose big with AA, and all that.

SO yes, 99% of the time ill reraise here. But i thought id go another way here. Heres my reasoning:

If i 3bet, hes folding. He thinks hes representing AA/KK and when i come on top, his hands lost.

If i to want him 2 keep putting money, at best ill have to min-reraise, at which point im suckering him in with almost as wide a range as hes raising with (although he did one time fold to a minraise)

On any disconnected flop, im just about getting half the stack of the guy. If i lead out on a Q-2-10 or whatever flop, hes raising me with whatever because he wants to keep representing AA. And with my lead bet thats half his stack in already, and im willing to gamble that he doesnt have say Q-10 specifically.

But as you guys said, this flop may be just 2 danegrous for that.

So check fold? check raise? lead out? (forget about preflop lol)

when u're playing with fish, the more straightforward the better. aa is reraise preflop.

now the flop: 9 10 j. since he's loose, u assume that u're still ahead and make a value bet. half the pot. if he raises, the questions would be "did he raise with nut st8 or a set before?" could he have j 10 here? how often does he raise with air? if u can't answer those questions, fold and try to get a better read on that player so u can make a better decision against him next time.
