Hey guys heres a hand I just played a couple minutes ago.

Playing in a 10 handed 0.5/0.10 $10 max buy in cash game.
I get dealt JJ in the big blind and I have $25 and I raise to 0.40
Everyone folds to the small blind who calls then flop comes 5s 2s 8c
The small blind checks and the pot is 0.95 I bet 0.65
Everyone folds to the small blind and he goes all in for $5.28
I was tempted to call because his bet looked suspicious but I folded the hand.
After which he showed us he only had pocket 4/4.

I know these are micro limits but what'd you think of my fold?
Thanks for any comments.

It's tough without knowing how the guy plays... you should include your table image and his table image...

I have no clue how to beat these limits, I actually posted a thread wondering why I did good in higher limits (1/2 and so on) and horrible here...

Without knowing how he plays I can't put him on a hand, but just off of the top I'd be thinking 22-88 (anything else these people push).. or Ace Little... I still wouldn't know what to do, because he could easily have 22, or 55... and could also easily have a8 (which, of course, you would call)...

Poker is a lot more about reading your opponents than the cards you get, and what comes out on the board.

Unless it is just you and the SB, there is no point of raising with JJ in the BB. It'll just make you lose more money.

I say this everytime, but I hate the microlimits. They are tough haha.

Bad fold imo. At those limits you cant give much credit to a guy with half the buyin going allin on a board of undercards. Basically youre afraid of only a set and even then theydnt go allin like that 99% of the time.

His range is very huge and youre ahead of the big majority of it.

Imo unless you think the player is very good and tight you should call this everytime.

This is a redic easy call. He can be value betting soooooooo many worse hands, he could be bluffing, and he obv "puts you on AK".

In future, please use tha actual hand history, and use a converter

I`m afraid I`m with the other guys - call.

It`s easy to say after the event when u know what has happened, but all I would say is that if he had hit a set I don`t think he would have gone all in. If he had limped I would then have been worried.

I would be interested to know how long it took you to fold.

Did u think it through?

Did u go by gut feeling only?

I would have called his all in and, looking at the flop, expected to see 6,7/ spade, spade/ or a pair less than mine.

However, not being to clever about it, if he had turned either A8/ K8 I would have not been suprised.

As I said before, him turning a set is unlikely, unless he is a very poor player and is affraid of the flush draw.

Grasshopper,

Make it easy on me and include your stack sizes at the top! :)

Also, make sure you include the action up before your raise. How many limpers were there? This could effect the size of your preflop raise.

Before you bet the flop you should think about whether or not you will be ahead often enough for it to be profitable when you get AI. I think you will be so you should be committed. So, I think you should call his raise. It is not your favorite way of getting the money in in this spot but if you look at range you should do well enough against it as he may play this way with a lot of PP's that are worse than your's and maybe even some draws.

I was UTG +1 and UTG limped in before I raised and the stacks between me and my opponent (who was the UTG) were:
Me: $25.59 Him: $5.68
Sorry this post was messy but it was my first one about a week ago. ;)
