Here we are, This guy had pushed me off hands that I thought were ahead previously, he was very aggressive preflop. This just crushed my day.

- Btw was pretty sure he didn't have an overpair (over mine), well by pretty sure I think he would have played it harder. I know I played my 10's weak as well, was burned earlier with them and felt a bit uneasy with them.

Later the guy commented that I needed to "know when to fold them" - honestly sent me spaz, this hand sent me flipping

Any opinions thanks.

When you stack TT as an overpair in a family pot, you should not expect good things to happen to you. I hope you realize villain's 88 is the very very bottom of his range here.

Also, you min-raise on the flop probably made baby Jesus cry so loud that the cards had to turn ugly on you to sooth his pain.

never ever ever ever stack with one pair in a family pot

nothing good will ever happen i promise

i realize you were ahead this hand but honestly villain is showing up with a lot stronger hands the majority of the time in this spot

i was surprised when i saw 88.... cause the pathetic reraise from the BB made me believe he had a big pair... also your min reraise on the flop doesnt make any sense.... still bad beat, maybe wrong thread section..

I wish someone would try and stack me with TT. Horrible turn card, but we all know he's going to hit something sick here. That's how online poker rolls.

Please post stack sizes. That is important. (Obviously you were both full stacks, but it's good to know going in, as well as the stacks of the people who had a chance to call the villain's post-flop bet.)

I have to agree. Stacking with a small over pair post flop in a family pot is suicide.

He played that like he hit a set. He could have easily hit two pair as well, or a straight flush draw, but I'd say most of the time his 4/4, 5/5, or 7/7 hit and you're stacking off light.

What can you beat that he'd be doing this with? Maybe a poorly played A/7, A/4c, 8/8, and 9/9. But everything else has you beaten.

Basically, most of the time you're getting your money in bad in this situation. You're lucky to have been ahead when you got your money in.

Maybe if you bet an unchallenged pot from the button and he was wild and called from the SB you could stack. But this is a situation where you need other factors than your hand to justify stacking. You hand it just too weak.

Yeah I agree, I normally would not play the hand like this at all. However he had been hyper aggressive with mediocre hands. If it was someone else that did that it would be an insta-fold. I do agree I got the best of this situation and I would have been way behind given any other player.
