This was a live table at a local cash game, i was big blind, first to act raises to 12 dollars blinds are 1 and 2. everyone folds to small blind and the small blind calls im sitting in the big blind with seven four suited of clubs. flop comes out jack of clubs ,eight of spades and six of clubs . Small blind checks and i check
guy who raised goes all in for 26 dollars on the flop small blind folds i have alot of outs. im wanting someone to tell me if it was a bad call or not.He had pocket kings.guy was glad that i called him till i hit the river for the flush. I think i was even money on the flop. and i did put him on an over pair. also my stack was about 280

Your pretty much even money against KK after the flop getting around 2.5 to 1, so calling is fine. Preflop call is a mistake though since the preflop raiser only has 38 bucks.

The preflop call is horrendous. Playing 74s versus a shortstack is not an okay play.

bad call pre flop, i'd probably bet on the flop though rather than check. you have outs so you cant be afraid of too much, but you are also going to be down to anything, so it doesnt hurt to take down the pot.

PS: as played, coming back to you to either call or fold, that is a MUST call, not questionable at all. you have pot odds against almost anything he can have minus a higher flush draw.

nice river first of all and congrats, but i think i would have folded preflop, unless i knew the player was reckless, i love low sutied but sometimes have to think about the following bet and not the first pre raise, but after the call i think i would have called and see what happens

even as bad a preflop call as i thought it was from the get go i just needed someone else to point it out to me.I just hate folding my big blind to a standard 10 on top raise with the people i normally play with. Would i do it again if i have that many chips sitting in the big blind i honestly couldnt say i would fold if i had a similar hand.

The size of your stack doesn't matter, the size of the effective stack does. For all intents and purposes, your stack is no bigger than your opponent's.
