Only played one previous hand with this player and didn't make a c-bet after a pre-flop raise. My only doubts is whether I should re-raise pre-flop in position.

* UTG with $147.60
* MP with $97.65

Any stats or reads on the CO? With CO preflop raise I'd set his range as 77+, KT+ but the check/call & check/raise narrows it to either a monster (AA,QQ,TT,KJ) or a bluff and this is where you need stats or a read. I think if he had AT he'd just call you down.

No reads. Just that one hand played against him.

AA is unlikely here given that we can account for 2 of the aces already. Not impossible, just less likely. If villain is capable of taking this line with AK, then this is probably a push. But this is a really strong line to take, and I think we are up against 2 pair, sets and straights most of the time here. With the amount of money in the pot already, I think I would call and reevaluate on the river. We still do have 4 outs to a full house.

I would've..

re-raised 3 0r 4 bucks pf just to see what his response would be, AQo on the button is an ok place to be in a 6 handed game IMO. If he re-pops me, I know he has a nice pr or probably a better ace. Playing the rings, sometimes u gotta pay for the info. How did it turn out?

You are ahead here way more often than you are behind.

My nightmare scenario is villains line is to raise with TT and when 2 overs hit he checks, but for less than a half pot bet he decides to see one more card. Bingo he hits and lets you bet it out...

Other than the above nightmare, I think your good here and villain is trying to find out if his AK/AJ is good. Or he may indeed have AT, was planning on check calling, but when the T hits he gets aggressive....

Okay...AT, that's my final answer.

Why are you ever betting less than 2/3 of the pot on this flop or the turn? If he's stealing the pot here you're doing all you can to let him.

I make it $6 to go preflop and bet $10 on the flop (assuming he calls our 3bet). If we don't 3bet, I at least make bet $7 on the flop. I think your bet sizing has complicated this hand immensely. There is ~$29 in the pot after his C/R. If we call the pot will be $40.50 and you'll have $30 left behind for the river. If we push we're almost always only getting called by hands that crush us and if we call a good opponent will force us to make a decision for the remainder of our chips on the river, so I fold (because I played the hand so poorly up to this point).

Edit (a little too late): I guess, with position, you can call the turn and fold if he pushes on the river, but I still hate the way you played this hand

As I said at the top, I think not re-raising pre-flop may of been a mistake. I thought with the pot being $4.75 I wanted to suck him in. I actually planned on betting $3 rather than $2. I was thinking about the turn call about calling a large amount on the river if he shoves (likely).

I'd call as well, like some people said pay for the information. The thing is though you can end up paying too much and losing money that way.

Anything wrong with shoving at this point ? He could be on a spade draw right and using the turn card to bluff a possible straight.
I don't know just a thought..

I flat-call (still not sure about this) on the turn. River is 6 of hearts. He shoves.

Now what do I do?

Hell, I just realized this is 6-max. People play so aggressively short-handed that this could be air or a KQ type hand. Because it's 6-max I think you have to extend his range enough here that we probably should have pushed the turn. So upon further review I call the river bet.

No question you call here...I am still saying AT with an outside chance you got nailed by TT.

Doesn't look like anyone else is replying so I'll give results. I called the river bet very quickly, but tanked the turn thinking should I of shoved. It turned out he had AA.

If we want to be results oriented you can convince yourself you could have gotten away from the hand. If you look at the hand realistically, it was a great flop for you and a better flop for villain (mainly because you hit pretty hard). This is like one guy hitting the top end of the straight flush and another hitting the low end...is either player really going to get away from the hand???

Given the action that took place...you played it fine.
