This is a discussion on AQ again within the online poker forums, in the Cash Game Hand Analysis section; Did I do anything wrong here?

BB is loose (VP$IP = 40) and relatively passive, but does seem to try a few aggressive moves. Don't know if this was one. Thinking maybe I should have pushed all-in on the turn? Was also tempted to call on the river but it was expensive, and I thought maybe he had AK.
I think he had a four. He slow played it on the river. He got scared of the Ace on the turn so he raised. He got really scared of the King and Ace that he went all in hoping you don't have Pocket Kings or Aces. That's my opinion anyway.
Big blind is $1 so it's a 2.5x raise. It says " PokerRoom No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB" with BB standing for Big Bet, i.e. minimum bet after the turn, not Big Blind. Except for as in your quotation, where if does stand for Big Blind. I always find this confusing.
t1riel - you're right. At least, he said he was holding 7-4 (sooted no doubt). When I asked why he would call a raise holding a 4, he said that he just had a "feeling" . Anyway good for him I suppose.
I think I should have
a) Raised to at least 3x BB, as it was quite cheap for him to call from the BB if I only raised 2.5x
b) Noted the mini-raise and maybe folded then. Tricky one this though, as sometimes people mini-raise because they don't believe you've got what you're representing, although they don't have much themselves and don't want to commit too many chips just in case you do.

Absolutely agree, specifically in this scenario. Once in a while you'll see a player check-minraise the flop on a pure bluff if they think the player who bet the flop has nothing. However, given that Bomb led out betting the flop and then made a larger bet on the turn, I'm thinking 99 times out of 100 this check-minraise on the turn means a big hand.
