I figured maybe I should have done that. At this point I was somewhat scared that the guy had a set or better 2 pair, so I wanted to bet out first and hopefully control the size and at least get to see the hand.
If he raises me there, I'm pretty much folding for sure. If I check to him and he makes a big bet ($25+), don't I pretty much have to call? It could be a bluff just like the raise on the turn could have been taking advantage of the scare card. If I bet here, the chances of him bluffing
seem much less likely and if he raises I can fold. Is this reasonable? Leading out with the smallish bet honestly seems to me like the best way to make money if he has only one pair, and the best way to limit my losses if I'm beat.
