Personally I think he is on pocket queens or pocket jacks.. and could be just as dissapointed with the flop as you.. Of course AK is the other possibility... I would throw out a 1/3rd the pot bet.. If met with a confrontation fold it

AK *should* be shoving preflop to ensure he sees all five cards given his shortstack. Doesn't mean he can't have it here though (he's in position which makes the call with AK somewhat more feasible, though leaving half his stack in front is really quite bad if he does have AK), but it's something to bear in mind. I think AQ is more likely than AK though, with QQ-TT also in the 'highly probable' range. It's possible that villain is playing AJ/KQ/some mid pp or even possibly AA like this too, though the first batch of hands are a little too weak to stand your 3-bet and AA should just be shoving after your 3-bet as you're obviously not going anywhere. So they're all less likely, but possible in $100NL donkland.

Either way villain has half his stack in, any sort of reasonable bet commits you, and he's in so deep he could well call a push with QQ through TT so I just hate life and probably end up shoving here because check-folding just seems so weak, though it's very marginal. I'd like shoving a lot more if we had the Kd, but nevermind... :/

I feel like an idiot lol, I didn't check stack sizes... I still put him on either QQ, JJ or AK... I think if he had AA he would push preflop after you raised his reraise.. I don't see someone with AJ or even AQ calling after you reraised him another $11.. Perhaps, I think it depends how you have been playing and how he has been playing

Tough decision.

So people don't have to work it out, I should have said, there's $35.50 in the pot on the flop, and $19.85 left in his stack. I've committed $17.25 of mine so far (not that that matters).

tough spot. i'd just push because 10/10+ are a huge part of his range and more likely than AK here IMO. any bet commits you, and as previously stated, check-fold is just too weak. I suppose you could check the flop and if he does anything but push you are probably good, but I think even if you do check the flop you have to call a push.

Isn't it better to check and hope he pushes then? He's obviously calling with any Ace if I push, so I can't hope to knock him off a better hand. On the other hand he may push if he has TT-QQ and I check.

I suppose I wasn't getting away from this one. I bet $20 to put him all-in, he said "ha ha" and called, showing pocket Nines. I said "well nice call pre-flop", which shut him up.

put him in and hope he folds some aces weaker than 10, although that feels like a donk playing AJ/AQ to me
