Okay I figure you will rag me for calling this bet but if I raise pre-flop and fold to every bet when I hit top pair, top kicker then I might as well not even play. This looked like a draw to me -- plus I still had outs.

Heres another one. I went from my highest today at $46 to now my lowest $25. This really SUCKS. I should have went all in when I hit it but was listening to bad advice here not to play my hands as strong.

You're doing the same things as before, light. The first hand isn't so bad, but second one... You min reraise when ahead and then push when the straight hits? New suggestion to avoid big mistakes (since you're still buying in full), only bet up to the size of the pot unless you're sure you're ahead or have enough outs to be near even when called. Either put in a big raise on flop or don't bother. You'd be better off disguising the strength of your hand by calling (check/call scare card so you can redraw or check/raise blank turn) than telling them you have a hand and not charge them to draw. All the minraise does is let them know you'll pay off when it hits.

Agreed, because you will be a long-term loser.

The second raise is not a real raise. I have won over my last 2-4k hands playing just this style from $25 to $46 and doubled up about 12x. So, I don't people to you know uhm rag me and tell me how bad I am. I want constructive crits.

I always raise 5 cent if most people have folded. I keep this raise small because it is a bluff raise. In other words I can have anything with it. If I just called with my pocket pairs itd give them away.

If I hadn't hit the 7 and encountered resistance I would have threw it away but the small raise lets me bluff an Ace or King rag.

Remember I'm playing 6 player and most of the play is quite loose and aggressive.

On the second hand, I should have shoved or folded but I wanted to get value out of the hand and I didn't pay attention to board texture. I was running bad and just happy to hit something.

Also 30 cent isn't a min-raise. Most of the stacks I play against are $1-$2 and that's like 30% of their stack. It's almost pot committing them.

I always bring in max value to my ring games because I feel I can outplay most players and I have consistently for about my last 2-4k hands out of 12k. But I just sometimes run really bad.

Uhm also if you can play tight and value bet and fold TPTK in a 6 player ring game you will get run over.

Do you want constructive criticism or do you want to tell us how you were right and the plays were unlucky?

If it's the latter, just go to brags, beats and vents.

I know I played bad. I'm just trying to provide context. To be honest, I rarely will bet big if a flush or straight draw is a high probability. I lost all judgement because I hit trips and was running bad. I was just salivating at finally getting a win without even thinking what he might be calling with!!

On the second hand, I should have shoved or folded You were never in a shove/fold situation but I wanted to get value out of the hand and I didn't pay attention to board texture. I was running bad and just happy to hit something.

Also 30 cent isn't a min-raise. There's no 30c raise in the HH. I was talking about your 8c flop reraise

I always bring in max value to my ring games because I feel I can outplay most players and I have consistently for about my last 2-4k hands out of 12k. But I just sometimes run really bad..

I'm not trying to rag on you, I think I gave you constructive criticism but all i see is you being defensive. You don't just run really bad, everyone has bad runs but it shouldn't eat up your winnings from good runs. You're making your bad runs worse if you're just happy to hit something.

Here is a new hand. I'm just trying to say that if I raise big then in a 6 player ring game I get 0 value out of my premium hands or this happens. If you read my "blow out" thread you will see my logic. I play 6 player ring game turbo. I play micro-limits. I increased my raise and I got ZERO value out of all premium hands except for this. I'm just saying everyone folds. I found a style that was working really good for me. I've made some bad plays recently. Is this one of them?

My thoughts on this hand where that I had a spade and over-card. Ideas? In this I'm thinking he could be moving in with AK-non spade, any spade like uhm j_10, or obviously trips. I have 2 outs for the queens 2*2=4% of hitting my trips. I also have 9*2 =18% of hitting the flush which would be no good in this case but I couldn't know. Also, my overcard might be good. He could be moving with 8's or better. It felt like I was pretty strong here - I also had some straight possibilities. I'm thinking now maybe I was weaker then I thought?

This last hand, when 3 people go all in on the flop, i think you can assume at least one of them beats you and fold.

That being said, i sympathise with your efforts. it's a extremely hard to assign ranges to villains when they are willing to stack with AcTs on a 9s8s2s board. The only thing you can really do about this is take notes on your opponents. You lost the hand but gained very valuable information provided Loonie3006 and PatPatt reload and stay at the table. Villains who stacks with A high are ATMs waiting to be released of their $$$. ArThriTiC on the other hand may be a good player, so you need to be more careful against him.

The big issue here is that most people advising you here play 25NL to 100NL i think. At those levels, an unknown player can be supposed to follow a pretty standard behavior and we won't be making a big mistake. The biggest info you want to know is what hand are they ready stack with. The 25NL standard player is reluctant to stack with TPTK, somewhat likely to stack with an OP, and usually willing to go all the way with 2 pairs and above unless there's a really dangerous board. When we see a player deviate from this, we take note and try to exploit it.

At 2NL, villains are too unpredictable to allow you to define what a standard 2NL player is. I'd say that against a single villain, stacking with an OP would have been good. Stacking against 3 or them was a bit too risky. But once you have notes, those decisions should become a lot easier

Exactly, I never go all in when 2 others have went all in. I almost never get a caller with a 17 cent raise and now I have 3 callers. Too many limpers. My mind was in a state of what is going on?

In the third hand you've taken the circumstances into consideration to some extent; three others in the hand. You're ahead if someone is drawing, but behind a made flush or 98 or made set. If you had a pair of Aces with the Ace of the suit I'd go, but with just the Q and three in, someone's got the Ace and at least one other already is ahead of you. Just fold.

But in the first hand you posted you talk about not folding TPTK, but you've got to take the flop into consideration. A flop like that hits all kinds of hands; QJ, JT, T9, 98 and of course 99/88. If you really think you're ahead and he's that bad, then call, but with that flop the first thing that should come to mind is not, "I've got TPTK", but "that flop hits all kinds of hands that he might have called with. Proceed with caution and use whatever player reads there are"
