AK guy calls with A7 guess who wins!

Ok today i get AK preflop and have about half the average stack a guy with equal chips goes all in in front of me i have AK and decide to call and find myself ahead as he has A7 well lets just say he hit 4 7's and won the hand....okay so i need advice how to keep playing poker because whatever im doing isnt working i know i could have folded preflop but this guy was loose and would go allin with Arag or andthing K10 or better so what am i doing wrong?

I have had SOOOO many bad situations with A K and calling peoples all in and them having something like K Q OR K J and hitting bottom pair and knocking me out. So i HATE A K, never calling an all in with it again. So now i just limp in with it, and if someone raises i call, but if they push all in then im folding, A K isnt as good of a hand as alot of people think. Its just 2 face cards.

while pot odds say you play, and in fact you are wayyyy ahead with ak versus a7, there are many other considerations. how far in the tournament are you? are you near the bubble? but ak is not the best hand preflop. even against 22, i think it's only like 49.9% or something like that. so i think the key is don't be so aggressive just because you have ak. and consider the other factors. if it was a cash game though, i'd just play pot odds and stick the money in. i don't know the ods, but i think its like 80+% against a7, so if you do that more than once, you'll be well ahead.
