Advice wanted... Live game

So I stop by my local casino to play for the first time since they've started NL games. I jump on a 1/2 with $100 and right away I see the competition is very similar to the 1/2 limit table... a bunch of bingo players, and a few ass-holes who swear they are pro's.

Any way. I play at the table for about 4 hours and saw (literally, no joke) 5 decent hands... 77, 66, 66, AQos, and J-Qs. I had to fold the 7-7 because someone mucked pre-flop and showed a 3-7. One of the 6-6 hands was the ONLY hand that I took down a pot with -- a whopping $8.
With the AQ I was at the cut-off and raised it up to $15, and then got shoved on by the button, who was one of those 'I'm a pro' players that only played AA, KK, QQ, AK and his only move was all-in, so he pushes all-in, someone calls, I lay down - they show AK and QQ.

Any ways... as the night progresses, and my stack goes from $100 down to $25 I get into this situation, and this is the one that I'm wondering about...

I've got $25 left, on the button, UTG raises to $15 - there are 5 callers, action is on me... I look down at 7-9 suited spades... My thought process goes like this... I'm probably looking at 5 hands with aces in them, and a few with kings or queens... the table was loose, but they would only get involved in the raised pots with A, K, or Q - something.... So I figure, I'm getting about 5.1:1 with a hand that I am more than likely alive with... right?
The board comes 10-7-8 with two spades, the turn comes a blank, and the river comes an 5, I believe, of spades.

Well, it ends up that I'm looking at
AQs, AQos, QJ, QK, and A3 for my opponents...

AQ was suited spades and took down the pot on the river. It kind of sucks, because from pre-flop he's drawing pretty slim with 3 aces out and 4 queens out.

After the hand was over - my friend asked me "how the can you go all-in there? You know you're up against all big hands" and I said "Exactly" and he looked at me like I was an idiot, and I think that's why he wouldn't lend me cash to play, lol.

Am I wrong here? Or am I totally right? What better spot can I pick to try and get back in the game with a $25 stack at a 1/2 NL game that is playing this way?

I just ran it threw the odds calculator, against those hands I was actually a somewhat big favorite with 28.9% chance of winning over

AQs - 16.3%
AQos - 12%
KQos - 17.5%
QJos - 12.7%
A3os - 12.7%

This isn't results oriented info, because these are the hands I'm actually figuring they have when I pushed.

At the flop I was a 55.6% favorite. Which is results oriented, but it still sucks! lol.

well u had the pot odds and yes if they all got hands like AK or AQ and QK w/e then u have a better chance of actually hitting something on the flop. that river sucked for ya. also u might have run in to something like 10 10 so if it was up to me i would have probably folded, but if i had more than 25$ if i had like 100$ i would definitely call for pot odds.

^ I understand. I was scared of the PP, but I shoved it into the back of my head, thinking that a PP probably would've raised the pot, not call, at this table...

I'm the other way around, I was down to my last $25 so I figure I need to get into a gambling situation where I'm getting the best odds, this was the biggest pot (without all-ins) I had a chance to get into...
If I had $100 in front of me I might have still called, maybe, but I would've been much more hesitant.

yes thats true too pp would have most likely made a raise or went all in. well you only lost 100$ to be honest thats not much and next time hopefully you win 500$ and more. i also understand yr reason to getting in to the hands and you are right, and u did make a very good read on the. i guess it just depends on what kind of a player you are and what kind of cards you play. a

I think in this situation you have to fold or push, really. Calling would be horrible. But with five other players in the pot, I really don't like it. I know your reasoning behind, and I completely understand, but I think I'm folding here (but I could be way off ).

^ It's pretty obvious the only real options are fold or push.. I only had $10 more than the original bet. And I agree, calling would have been foolish But thank you for the input regardless.
The only thing is... What else am I going to wait for?... I've got 12.5 BBs. If I do happen to get out of being completely card dead and wake up with AA, AK (even JQ would've been a big hand in comparison, lol) who's to say I get any action at all? And with AK or any other non-paired card I'm just as much a coin-flip with just about any other hand as I am here with 7-9, but here I'm getting big odds.... That's just how I think, and I'm not by any means saying I'm 100% right, that is just my thought process...

Anyone have an in depth insight as to why the move is wrong?


P.S; Bob, you're right, I'm not really sweating it... I just wish I knew the game was like that, I would've brought more money.. I will next time, at least 4 buy-ins.

yup definitely a good idea to bring 4 buy ins. no matter how good you are and no matter how good you play sometimes you might be card dead and sometimes you might get rivered by some lucky donk, but if you are a good player you will definitely win more than you lose. i think they key in this would be patience and not think that you have to win now or you are going to lose all of your money. And also sometimes you will a get a bad run off cards but just wait for the good cards and you will bust those donks that play every hand. gl on your next time and let us know if you do better, im sure you will.
