sitting at a local cash game and i caught ace king off in early postion i just limped with. I know i should have raised preflop,so sb,bb and dealer button called or checked flop comes out k , j, 3 all rainbow i check dealer checks sb bets 10 into a eight dollar pot bb folds i call and dealer reraises to 25 sb folds , what should i have done here blinds were 1 and 2.I also had about 200 in front of me ,dealer had about 300. also the guy on the dealer button had been playing like a maniac all night calling all ins preflop for 50 dollars with queen eight suited and such so my impression of em wasnt real good

Raise preflop to ~10-14$ and avoid this mess. You can raise a lot larger in a live game, since everyone else is & you'll still get callers.

As played, with the maniac read you have, I still think we have to play this to the river. But since you limped in, we're not going to be happy while doing it.

Check call down. Maybe fold if a 9 hits.

8 on the turn he bets twenty i call king on the river and he bets 40 and i call the whole time feeling like i had second best but couldnt get off of it . he turned over king jack. i dont like raising with ace king in early position but i dont like losing with it like this either. definately raising with it next like i already know i should have.

Yeah, you need to raise this to get value from KJ. Preflop, you're a big favorite over KJ, so you pass up a street of value by just limping.

I figured it was KJ or a set of 3's, since you posted this. But really, raise this preflop. You will make up the $ you lose in this hand by raising & winning big pots most of the time against KJ.

yea it was just a bad night for ace king or queen for me. raised with preflop all night and got busted with others have king or queen with paired kicker.

I raised AQo against a maniac once, and the tough thing about maniacs is that their really strong hands are very well disguised. He had AA.

I got really lucky and caught an Ace high straight, but with KJ on the board, I usually am hesitant because a lot of people would play KJ.
