this is about my favorite arguement in the world. what is correct to play no limit. one out of every 2.3 hands nets a pair. but in the same respect if both hit a pair there is only a 50% chance that the ace has the best hand. so now my question is witch would you play ace 2 has a slightly higher percentage of winning, but more ppl play kq.

my go ace 2 but thats just me.

plz give feed back and tell me why

Hi,
This is an interesting hand. A 2 off against any random hand heads up is roughly 55% fav whereas K Q off is 61% fav against any random hand. I'd take K Q for the above reason and from just a confidence point of view,i've won more times with K Q than A 2 heads up. But the stats are also in favour of K Q.

But if you play them against each other A 2 is fav by 57% compared to 42% of K Q.

I'd certainly take KQ on full table. If K or Q pairs you'd have good pair plus high kicker. If you have A2 and pair ace, someone else with an ace will outkick you. A pair of 2's is unlikely to hold up. I would usually sling A2, as it can get you in a lot of trouble.

Head to head i've lost Ax against KQ/KJ 4 or 5 times on the trot.

A2 vs KQ ??? Every time id take the KQ especially on a full table, but I think neither hand is very playable against a raise. But i like the nut straight that KQ gives.

Not much point asking anyone around here. We only play pocket pairs or AK AQ suited ;)

LOL! I wonder then how you can explain some 5/7os I've seen at the tables here?

Ace-duece to me is an invitation to disaster. The only flop that makes A-2 significantly better is 2-2-X. If an ace flops you can guarantee you're outkicked and many folks have a HARD time laying down a weak pair of aces. If the A-2 is suited and I'm in position I may limp in to see if I flop the nut flush - especially on Noble that loves to flop a 3 flush...
