Flop scares me enough to make me take an extremely passive line for AA. Is this a reasonable approach here? This may be the first time I don't c-bet AA.

I think your line is ok, Probably not a good spot to look for 3 streets of value with such a scary board. Betting the flop and checking behind on the turn may also be a decent line, with the intent of maintaining a small/med size pot.

Looks fine to me as well. If the 9 doesn't fall on the river and we're checked to I probably bet ~$4, but with any T now making a straight checking behind there is right IMO.

Why not bet on the flop? If it is a scary board don't you want to

A. make him pay for drawing (if he has flush draw / straight draw)
B. put in money while you are still winning the hand?

if the river is checked, I might check, being scared of a huge re-raise if I bet but I could still probably try it.

I would've bet the flop and probably raised on the turn. You played it really passively, there is a chance he had 2 pair with KQ or something but if you bet the turn and he re-raises you can probably get away from the hand. As played it's a good check on the river since you'd have to fold to a raise but again you played it a little too passively for my liking.

Villain has KJ, so I got away cheaply.

https://www.cardschat.com/forum/cash-games-11/I think this flop puts us BA/WB. I like the flop check, a turn bet if checked to, and a check behind on the river.

Our bet on the flop will rarely be called by a hand that we have a large equity edge against. Even hands like JT, and TT have a significant amount of equity in this pot. When we bet, we're likely either getting called by a hand that has us crushed, or by a hand that we're barely ahead of.

I like a check behind on this flop, and drawing to a blank turn. If the turn comes an 8 or lower, I'll be betting this for value if checked to.

wow, great thread there. I had the intuition we were somewhat WA/WB but not exactly, and BA/WB is really the concept I was looking for. :)
