I don't like the way I played this hand, yet I don't have a clue how to do better.

Should I give up earlier, play for stacks?

Villain is 17/11/11 over 140 hands.

obviously the J was the worst card in the deck, making the turn fold super standard, but what card would you be continuing on after calling the flop raise?

If villain is likely to do this with a drawing hand I like to just get it in on the flop (and seeing as he has an AF of 11 I'd say hes definately capable of making that play) so yea, I just get all in on the flop here. As played folding the turn is pretty easy, u beat nothing but an outright bluff. Against a less aggressive opponent I'd say a fold on the flop is best since this flop hits his range so hard.

I think it is either all in on the flop or fold on the flop. Calling is the worst thing to do because you don't really know where you stand / which card is bad for you.

In this situation i would push all in if he is very aggressive beware though that with this board it will be high variance because even if you are ahead it is not by much.

One way to deicde how to proceed in situation like this is to see how much you have invested, if, say for example 25% + of you stack is in then go for it

i think at 25nl, enough villains will have something you have good equity against (like pair + OESD) and you can get it in on flop. basically just decide on something and either shove flop or fold flop.

I agree, fold flop or get it in on the flop unless you want to try a c/c line (hard seeing you are oop). With 17/11, villain's limping range is probably mainly s/cs and smaller pps, so this flop hits villain's range very hard and you are probably seeing alot of set/2 pair/straight/pair + OESD/FDs etc. Ideally, these are the sort of flops that you want to check behind on, but being oop you are pretty much f'ed on the flop.
