Inside straight but Suckoutz could have the upper hand with and 8. First he calls then checks then bets. I would go over the top and re-raise. Feeling is I would think he only has made a pair, but that is just me. So what did you do and what was the result? I'm very curious.

This is a classic example of "BB Special"! What I'm curious about is, why didn't you reraise on the turn? You flopped the straight. A post-flop bet may have been in order as well, unless you were trying for the check-raise? Since no one took the bait for that, I would have definitely re-raised the turn to make it too expensive for him to catch the flush. You let him off too cheap.

Without a read on him, I would have called. Probably a split pot.

Oh, and what JQ said.

I was wondering the same thing. If it was a 3 on the turn then it my guess was he had an A 5. Having the A would explain why he called the .75 raise and give credit to the 2$ bet when he caught the bottom straight. Wasn't sure if it was a 3 or 2 after looking at the hand history though.

I wouldn't have called the raise with that junk hand, even if I was the big bLind.

That's strange. I checked my hand history. The turn was 2c.

I think you may be right. Not my best played hand for sure. My thinking was this. Other than my straight, it was unlikely that anyone hit that flop in any meaningful way. I was hoping to let jonP and and AWM fight it out and things went swimingly with the $2.00 raise on the flop. I didn't reraise because I was sure that if I did, that would be all I got. And I was happy to see his weak follow-up on the turn. Hoping to extract one more bet I just called. Since the flop was rainbow I never considered the flush until the immediate pot sized raise on the river. My spidey instincts told me it wasn't a bluff. And it probably wasn't but all of the sudden, my investment became a gamble. If I called and lost I would have been kicking myself for not having seen it.
This is just the kind of situation I've been avoiding lately. Later on in the same session I folded a flopped low flush to an All-In. I started that table with $20 and left with $47.

Tazztaz thinks so also. but I have been playing real loose recently.

Again I agree! I have seen so many folks at the home games slow playing strong ands on a flop, trying to trap. And when I catch and they blow "Nice catch" I always offer the same advise " Play them while they are good. "
