Was this a bad call?

The game was a 3,6 no limit. My hole cards were Aces. The table is full and Im in early position, I make a small raise of $24 pre flop. I get caller, the flop comes A 8 8. I flopped a big full house. I check into the other guy hoping to set a trap, and he takes it, but he immediately moves all in with like $425. I think very briefly and call, he shows Q 8. Im thinking Im about to take a monster pot. The turn hits a 4, and then the river comes along and he sucks out with the fourth eight on the river! I guess I just really want to know if any one else would have called the all in after that flop?
Could you actually fold a flopped full house like that? Did I make a bad call or should I have bet out first on the flop?

He sucked out on you big time, only card in the deck that could beat you. He was about 3% to win.

BTW there is a Hand Analysis forum located here, some nice mod might come around and move it for you.

That isn't a bad call... just awful luck. The only way you could've laid down that hand was if your internet connection crapped out and you timed out. It was played well, and you got excatly what you wanted... for the villan to push all of his money into the middle. Its a terrible beat, but at least you know youre on top of your game and everything. Suckouts to lose money hurt... but they shouldn't bother you too much. Losing money when playing badly is much worse because that money will keep trickling out while a suckout only loses a little once.

Should have folded. He was clearly going to hit his 1 outer on the river.

hey it happens alot what i have learned is that pocket rockets loss more than half the time. so i usaully go all in its better to win small than lose big usaully people fold unless they have kings.

of course you call in this situation - all the time, everytime. There's only one hand thats ahead of you (88), and why on earth would he go all-in when he flopped quads. You read him correctly - he either had a Q or an 8 to make the all-in - and you called correctly, as you were WAY ahead. any Q is already dead to you, and as it was, he was drawng to the last 8 in the deck.

Bad luck for you, but its a no-brianer call.

wow, can I play against you?
sorry, that is a little mean, but A's should still win over 1/2 the pots they are in, so its worth playing them right. cold All-in is simply throwing away good value. just keep raising until someone flat calls, and re-evaluate on the flop.

I have a sneaking suspicion you dont play 3/6 no limit at all. Of course, you can prove me wrong by posting the hand history.
