Yeah you gotta have a plan for your hand, starting before the flop. Against short stackers with small-med pairs, you generally want to ship it or get rid of it before the flop. Playing them postflop with overcards and low SPRs is just too difficult and complicated.

Make your decision easier and ship it in preflop or just fold.

Also, why are you betting the turn?

River is a clear fold for me as played btw.

up to 6BB, I use the 4BB + 1BB per limper. Although you can make it 3BB + 1BB per limper but you get more monies long term if you use 4BB i think. Am I right?

You should be tayloring your raises to the specific table and what you are trying to achieve. not just picking an amount and sticking to it. Some tables nobody will fold for less than a 6bb raise, some a 3bb will fold everyone out. Also are you trying to build the pot or isolate.

I think its an easy laydown anytime post-flop. I agree with the input that just raising pre-flop and taking down the blinds would have been a sufficient play. Post-flop that 99 w/ that board is too likely to be beat.

i raise based on table position and maybe up it 1x if i see something with certain players. i agree with the other comments, raising preflop, bad turn bet, easy laydown river.

I fold preflop for that size raise. I only play those lower pairs for set value, and his raise destroyed your odds there. With his raising range you have to believe that flop destroyed you though once you saw it. For that reason I also would have tried to check-fold this hand down from the flop. As played I think it's easy to cut loose to that river bet as just about any holding that could raise preflop has you killed. He has a wide VPIP, but his preflop raise is reasonable.

U gotta let it go, if he hit top or middle pair on the flop he isnt going to fold anyway and since u showed weakness on the flop he was pretty sure he was good. If u dont bet the flop in late position no need to bet on the turn in that situation

I would advise betting a small bet like 40-50 cents on the flop,

If they call, bet another 40-50 cents,,, there being a dollar,,, if they limp,,,

I advise on the river,,, take a bit a of time,,, and check,, for them to think your slow playing

Calling 40c pre means:
Villain has about $2 left, so if you stack him you're getting 5:1 on this call
Chance of hitting set on flop: ~8:1
Fold or shove, mainly fold.
