our stack is $900

Villain is on the BTN and we are in the BB
pre flop 5 players limp in , villain also limps , SB completes and we have Ks8s so we check our option .
Flop ($40) K 10 8 rainbow SB checks we make it $30 , everyone folds villain ships in for $315 What Tha Fuk?

I don't see him having pocket kings or pocket tens with that many limpers and him limping the button, so the likeliest hands that beat you I think are K-10 and pocket 8s. The rest of his likely range could be hands like 10-8 suited, KJ, K-9, KQ, maybe he limped the button with AK.

well we can heavily discount 88 as theres one on the flop and we hold the other + would villain really play his set on a rainbow board so strongly ?
So most likely K10, KJ, KQ , 8 10 possibly AK so we have a call with 65% equity right?

Villain seems like a maniac. Just call and continue to be perplexed when he has you beat. Mark him as terrible and move on, but I don't really see myself folding here.

1 combo 88/KK each, 3 combos TT, KT sometimes too but why would he ever shove?

sigh call? he probably figures your range cant ever be strong because KK/TT raises pre, probably puts us on K4o or something retarded

J9, flops double belly buster. I don't see what else he's limping with, 108s? I think he figures you'll never call since you have no info on him. Knows you don't have TPTK due to no raise pre. Probably puts you on KQ KJ which he can push you off.

Or he's just donking about.

This is a snap call and I'm expecting Aces. Totally makes sense if V is bad and thinks he's a star. But either way, no way his range tops ours

Before I got to this post I was thinking that at least in my casino huge over bets are the damn nuts, and that he had 88/TT/KK and the worst he could have here is KT (and I don't think so...), honestly expecting you to say he had TT (a lot of the time TT/JJ won't raise pre over a lot of limpers). I personally would have folded and used the good ol' 'good bluff, sir' line, he would have shown you top set as he mucked and you know for sure he is the player that will bet hand strength, likely call down with draws and jam nuts/near nuts.

Vs. a total unknown live I roll my eyes and fold then offer to give them a dollar to see it. I'm not putting AK/KQ/KJ or any draw in his range till I know more about him.

The widest range I can imagine him having:

Board: 8:heart:K:spade:T:club:
*******Equity*****Win*****Tie
MP2****48.68%**48.45%***0.23%*{ TT, 88, AKs, KTs, QJs, T8s, KTo, QJo }
MP3****51.32%**51.08%***0.23%*{ K8s }

What I actually think he has:

Board: 8:heart:K:spade:T:club:
*******Equity*****Win*****Tie
MP2****78.64%**78.12%***0.52%*{ TT, 88, KTs, T8s, KTo }
MP3****21.36%**20.83%***0.52%*{ K8s }

hello dude, i think its best to fold there....as u are unaware of the villians card range and betting range, its wiser u put him on top hand...trips in this case...
I would only go for the shove call if i myself had trips their...
Also i have seen few people playing that way with AA...very often limp shoving !

Nice situation.

I really thought he has either KT or T8. So the premise here is our hand is 50 50 winning/losing situation. Meaning card odds is 50%.

Now, pot odds is not so good. With that condition, Ill fold and wait for a better spot.

If you believe the card odds are 50%, you only need 1:1 pot odds to break even by calling here. Since you have better than that, how can you justify folding on the basis that the pot odds aren't good enough?

Raise to $30, and tip the dealer $1 when he pushes you the pot.

Don't villains generally rock out, and not rock up?
