Hi guys would really appreciate comments on this hand.
Live game. Hero: ~$1000; Villain: ~ $ 1500
Hero has played with Villain for quite a lot. Villain is tight in general. occasionally make some plays.
Last hand of the night and Villain had a relatively quiet night prior to this hand.
Hero picked up QQ on the button with straddles on. 3 people called the straddle already so hero decided to make a big raise to $85. Villain in the BB 3bet to $280. Villain is not the type of guy who 3bet light out of position so Hero had to put Villain on premiums. Any 4bet definitely means all in pf and Hero didnt want to be flipping at best.
Hero decided to take a flop in position, which came 257 rainbow and Villain open shoved. Given it was a straddled pot and loads of dead money, it was possible that Villain was airballing but very unlikely. Hero open mucked and Villain claimed he had AK afterwards. (not sure about that)
I know people will be crucifying me for not 4betting or fold. But given my understanding of the opponent, he can only have AA, KK, AK, JJ, or maybe 10s. I wasn't sure shoving my entire stack at the last hand of the night hoping for a flip was the best thing to do. Folding Queens in position in a straddled pot with so much dead money sound weak to me too. In retrospect, I agree I should probably call on a baby flop but I just thought it was so likely that he had KK Or AA.
Would really appreciate comments on QQ pf in general.
