Was wondering people comments on my river bet
and the call on the turn

The flop - you have only king high? Check/raise here is crazy. Often you are behind in this hand. I can call this flop and see one more card, and hope that turn will be good for me.
The turn - very good card for us, but I still don't know if the K kicker is good enough, I prefer here check/call.
The river - here also I prefer check/call and I hope that I have the best hand.
To sum up - the best here for me is checking and to control the pot.

I agree that the check/raise on the flop was spewy.

just check/fold, no need to get fancy at 5nl, not much point betting as a bluff.

I don't think it's that bad if you are against the right player, say someone who c-bets a lot and folds to check raises. However, you should rarely do this. Plus, I don't think you are doing this against the right player, since he didn't seem concerned at all to your checkraise with a hand weaker than pair Q (say pair T).

So fold flop, bet bigger on turn (so you don't get raise by marginal hands), and maybe put a blocker bet on the river.
