C-betting this flop would have squashed this scenario. or, is this even a true WA/WB scenario at all?

You're not really WA here as there are two overs that can worry you, so one can make the case that you need to cbet this flop for protection. But checking flop is a good play too.

As played you could find a fold on the river, but overall the hand is fine. You put half the money in while you were ahead and half while you were behind. Nothing to be worried about, imo

Yeah, his bets are so small, you really can't fold. Your jacks only have to be good here 16% of the time. Just good to make note that he value bets that small. You played the hand just as I would've played it. Sometimes playing WA/WB, they're going to hit a 3 outer and you'll mistakenly call a value bet. But given the size of the value bet you called, I'd say this was a pretty good result.

You shouldn't really be worried about somebody hitting a 3 outer. Betting here vs a light flop peeler is actually fine since you'll probably get called by alot of draws including gutshots, any 6, any 5, 77-TT, etc. You do have more to protect in this case than say if you had KK on an A high board since you could be facing one or even two overs. But checking behind here is fine as well and calling down is fine as well vs such small bets.

Another vote for checking is fine.

But there's only one over on the flop, and it's not an Ace. People are more likely to want to see a flop if they hold an Ace than a K, so taking one stab at the flop here is okay, though the flush draw might still keep some players in no matter what your flop bet.
