Right guys, this was an interesting hand I was involved in today. I would appreciate some advice how you guys play this pre flop in this multi way pot. Its was an extremely loose table with one guy in particular catching a huge amount of cards. This influenced my play somewhat as usually I like to raise/rr to isolate. I know most guys here will be of the opinion fold pf and I certainly dont think many, if any, of you take my line. Surely no one shoves here?

Stats: UTG 27/16/1.5 over 300 hands, CO is typical loose passive with 38/5/1.1 over 60 hands.

poker stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $66.10
Hero (BB): $65.65
UTG: $113.90
MP: $240.40
CO: $33.45
BTN: $41.00

Preflop: Hero is dealt :10d4: :10h4: (6 Players)
UTG raises to $2.00, MP calls $2.00, CO raises to $5.00, BTN folds, SB calls $4.75, Hero calls $4.50, UTG raises to $20.00, MP folds, CO calls $15.00, SB folds, Hero calls $15.00

Flop: ($67) :4s4: :8h4: :7h4: (3 Players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, CO checks

Turn: ($67) :2s4: (3 Players)

Hero? Do we push here or is that spew?

Why call 1/3 of your stack preflop against a re-raiser and a re-reraiser out of position...

Theyd have 2 have been pretty loose for me 2 do that.

What hands did you put the UTG guy on?

Dyou think his range is much wider than AA/kk/QQ?

Were you playing for set value when you called preflop?

If you think you might be ahead, by all means go ahead and bet...

Its kinda weird that UTG would bet his high pair so strong preflop but not bet at a flush draw board, so maybe you could be facin AK here....

Tbh the whole situation is kinda messed up from preflop action anyway...A suicidal shove or bet cant make it much worse.

To be honest it was an amazingly loose table, there was one player +50, one +40. the rest were high 20's. I did put UTG on something like TT+, AQs+ here. Normally my line would be to 4-bet here I think, but there was one person I was weary of and that was MP. He called everything and he took it to the felt. So when the action comes to me I'm thinking $5 into the pot here and look for set value. Then the 5-bet from utg comes, and the CO calls so theres $52 in the pot. At this stage it looks an easy fold, but I'm thinking why does UTG just 4-bet this to $20 when the table has been so loose, then CO calls so he's not showing a great deal of strength. In hindsight I think now that pushing here would probably have been the right move, but I decided to call.

27/16 is nearing LAG. his 5bet can mean a lot considering the amount of dead money in this. CO with 5 pfr and a min reraise preflop a lot of the time will mean aa, though. you put yourself in a weird situation & now have a difficult decision to make. there are no real implied odds unless we are sitting like 400bb deep to make this set mining call preflop with only one other tagging along, so i dont necessarily like that either.

as played, there isnt a good way to finish this hand off, i dont think. a lot of laggier players will be raising hands like 56s from utg, as well as 44/77/88 on top of actual strong utg raising hands. if we go for pot control by just checking, they are both apparently passive players and we risk giving a free card to Axh, but if we dont bet this out (which is a shove with only $40 left) we miss value from them. Then again, if we bet this out, we are missing value but not giving money to hands we are drawing dead or near dead to. You put yourself in a precarious situation and this is the consequence.

Fold the 1st time preflop. You're committing 10 BB preflop, when the CO only has like 65 in his stack, you're OOP, you dont have set odds, you're not closing the action.

Fold the second time preflop, I really don't know what you're hoping to see UTG and CO with here, but let me assure you that BOTH their ranges CRUSH TT, let alone when you are up against BOTH of them, and you DEF have no set odds not. Note that while teh table might be loose, UTG's and CO's stats aren't, AND UTG raised from...well, UTG!

Lastly, now you've seen a flop, just keep checking and hope to spike a ten

Well I was going to write something different here, but then I read dbitels thread he changed my mind. What he said is very good.

I try to play in a manner that puts me in situations to make easy decisions. This ones just a mess. Fold this preflop if you get in a situation like this again in the future.
