4th hand, no reads. He won the last hand when my 2nd pair lost to his TP. FWIW I did all the betting in the last hand and he just called down.

Should we be shipping it here with AQ? Still very new to NLHU so if this is a standard fold or shove just let me know.

I don't play any HUNL cash but I think against an unknown a fold is correct. I mean once some history is established (You 3betting light, him 4Betting light etc.) this could be a shove but I think with no history it's probably a fold.

I might be way out to lunch here though so take it with a grain of salt.

You may well be right but FWIW I tend to take the opposite tact at these low $$ HU tables. That is that every 3bet/4bet is "light" until proven otherwise.

This seems like a pretty standard fold vs. a 50NL unknown. I'm too lazy to work it all out, but with an average equity of like 30% when called, he has to be folding something like 50% of the time and I just don't think his 4-betting range is that wide.

Again that may be right, but I would tend to think that would be the case at the higher stakes where there are better players.

I think a better player is more likely to 3Bet light than a typical lower stakes player just for the main reason is that they know much more about HU and are more likely to make these type of plays early in a match.

ok, wasnt too lazy after all and I got the spreadsheet and stove out. Vs. a reasonable calling range (99+,AQ+ 5.1% of total hands), you have like 35% equity. Given the action he needs to fold just shy of 1/3 of the time for a shove to be profitable. This would mean his 4-bet range has to be something like 88+,AQo+,ATs+,KQs+ (6.5% of total hands). It's close, but I don't see too many 50NL players being that aggro.

edit : ^^^^^This is why HU rawks. Everything can be solved :D

expert strategie for shoving s:
-fundamental rules always 4-bet shove against the first 4-bet from a HU opponent
-metagame - he thinks youll shove light
-unknowns think pocket pairs HU are the nizzlies
-you have equity against every hand ever besides AA but no one has AA heads up poopsex

Those rules sound about right to me.

FWIW I shoved, he called with AKs and held on.

I would have had to call to see the flop. You had a good hand he just had a little better.
