At this point we only had 3 hands on the villain that stacks.

Dealt to BTN:J♦ J♥

Preflop:
UTG raises $1.50 to $2
UTG+1 calls [$2]
2 players fold.
CO calls [$2]
Hero raises $7 to $9
4 players fold.
CO raises $23.40 to $32.40 [ all-in ]
HERO ??????????

I snap my fingers say "damn" and let him have it.

Reason being I am thinking QQ+ or AJs+ I could be wrong (and have been many times) though

Call with fist pump, imo.

QQ+ in CO would probably raise before you instead of flatting after UTG raises and UTG+1 flats. Your raise looks very much like a squeeze and probably doesn't get too much respect, so villain's range could be quite wide here.

on the other hand, villain's stack size hints that he's a fish, so none of the above may apply, but i call anyway here.

i'm absolutely calling. this is a small or weaker medium pair so much of the time. CO would be hardpressed to flat a raise with QQ+ after someone else already called, somehow anticipating a squeeze that is probably not that likely in the table dynamic (just guessing, but it's not like the 50nl games are super aggro).

i've seen these types of hands really often and, although sometimes they have it, i can pretty much assure you that calling here will be +EV in the long run

BTW, your 3bet is a bit low for my taste. $9 is not even pot sized. I'd make it $12 at least.

and fwiw, if UTG had made this same 4bet instead of CO, it would be a snapfold most of the time

No, that's why you need to keep frequenting the HA forums to pick up on stuff like this :)

icemonkey: 1) what the guys above said. This is almost always a med pocket pair and I'm snap calling. 2) can you use the text-format stack sizes instead of the picture next time? I hate that thing :)

Nonsense! Anyway, we don't give advices, just opinions which help us see difference aspects of the problem.

Besides, you may be right in this case. If icemonkey called and won the pot against pocket fives, I doubt the hand makes it to hand analysis. So either he folded but I don't think he plays that weak, or he called and was dominated by QQ+.

I should make this a prop bet.

He had AK, hit his K. End of story :) It's good to know that my posted hands have gone from:

"Gee dude what are you doing?! You're game really needs work"

to

"Do this" "That's what I did" "Okay good job too bad you lost"

Yea snap call against CO and snap fold vs UTG as already said. This is 55-TT and AK/AQ basically 100% of the time.

And i agree with your analysis of your play...when you started posting hands you played some just terrible imo but it looks like you really have the hang of things now so well done :).

if UTG/SB was shoving it would be an easy fold. the call/shove line is ~99 so often though that i happily stack off here.

basically what combubububoom said.
