I hate playing KQ oop, so i'm not even sure i want to be raising it UTG+1. Maybe that's why i don't play full ring anymore.

Also, I'm not sure I cbet here.

As played, if you raise here to something like $15, then you're committed to call a 4bet shove as you'd get about enough equity even against a set or two pairs. But that wouldn't be good because we're clearly behind the range of hands that could stack against us, and we're only folding hands that are way behind.

Folding would be really weak here with top and a good draw.

So we have to call and reevaluate on the turn, imo.

i don't raise KQs in UTG1. also, i'm not so sure about the 3x raise size preflop. 4x is standard.

if you do raise it preflop, you have to cbet this flop. I call the raise and either c/f or c/c if we don't hit a straight. The difference depending on how much he bets. this flop hits a lot of his range hard. KJ KT JT AK KQ JQ and combo draws.

I think I call here and re-evaluate the turn. I would agree with your raise utg with KQ, I wouldn't call a re raise with it but at 25nl you don't get 3 bet a lot. This could be Ax with x being any one of the flop cards. You have a decent draw. I would call then lead out on the turn depending on the turn card, and re-evaluate from there. I have seen this exact play numerous times at 25nl with any PP having position. He/she may well shut down after we call.

i dont understand the 3xBB raise with kqs utg+1 :-(
thats like asking for a lot of trouble imo
your probe(?) raise on the flop (3xBB again) was probably sensed as weakness by the villain hence the pot size re-raise.
i think if you are going to play KQs in early pos, protect your investment with aggression (2/3 to 3/4 pot size raise) but be ready to fold to a big reraise since its not far fetched that he has you crushed. simply put, you are not supposed to raise with KQs from utg+1. just my 2 cents

What they said...

Can't fold at this price so call/re-raise is in order. Anything that calls your re-raise prolly has you beat so call and see what happens on the turn.

Guess I'm just weak but I'd fold here. We've basically got 3 clean outs to improve here and another 3 pretty solid outs, but that sometimes stack us off to a flopped straight. Villain is raising with his entire nut range (straights/sets/2-pairs) because slowplaying would be moronic on this board, and unless this guy's gotten a ton out of line and super-aggro (in which case you consider a flat or a 3-bet) I think this is a fold. Basically the point is you're only far ahead of a stone cold bluff. Other than that you're either already way behind or else barely ahead.

Oh and agreed preflop, unless it's a table of nits KQ is a fold in EP imo.
