Villain is 16/8/13 over ~150 hands. Fold to 3 bet of 90%. On the flop, I'm kinda lost. This kind of a check/fold situation since this flop basically smacks his range in the face? I figure there aren't a whole lot of hands that he could have called the 3 bet with that don't at least have a draw at this point, if not having me crushed.

3 bet pots are kind of a big leak for me at this level, good thing they are for most of the other regs I've seen also.

It totally fkin blows that we are oop but I'm not for giving this up yet. We have our gutshot as well as BD hearts and maybe our overs are live. I admit this board is better for him than us but because he has position he is three-bet calling lighter than usual (I think?)

How about b/f or c/c around $7?

c/f > b/f > c/c

c/c is really bad given that a bunch of times all of our good cards are going to be scare cards for our opponent (if we make a heart flush or broadway, our opponent is going to give us no action), and we allow our opponent to play perfectly against us on any turn card. not only this, but when we do make the best hand on the turn, we'll have no idea where we stand.

it's fine to c/f AKo when the board hits our opponent's range perfectly and doesn't hit us at all, even in a 3bet pot, esp given that our opponent has a high fold to 3bet (albeit only over 150 hands), which weighs his hands to a stronger range.

This is a spot where I might consider not 3betting AK preflop,
As played I don't think check folding on this flop is a bad play.

I would really much prefer flatting preflop. I doubt that AKo is ahead of a 16/8's UTG raising range.

As played, i like a check/fold, tbh.
