Villain is a 60/15 over 21 hands. Gotta be fishy.

Who here likes shoving in villain's last ~$14?

MP: $36.60 (73.2 bb)
CO: $27.63 (55.3 bb)
BTN: $114.05 (228.1 bb)
SB: $52.35 (104.7 bb)
Hero (BB): $64.70 (129.4 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is BB with Q♠ 9♥
MP raises to $1, CO calls $1, BTN calls $1, SB calls $0.75, Hero calls $0.50

Flop: ($5) 6 4 9♠ (5 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $4.25, MP folds, CO calls $4.25, BTN folds, SB folds

Turn: ($13.50) 5♠ (2 players)
Hero bets $9.25, CO calls $9.25

River: ($32) 2♠ (2 players)
Hero ???

Hey, that looks like one of my hands! LOL

You pretty much don't have an option here. If you push, he's probably gonna call with the flush/fold without. If you check, he's probably gonna push and you've got too much invested already.

So I would close my eyes and min bet!

Pushing would be bad imo here. All straight draws got there and so best case he calls us with like A6 here. I just think this is overcards a lot so just check and let him bluff it. Even a fish I don't see a calling range that's not ahead of us. He'd have to be calling our shove with like QJ for this to be profitable and I just don't see that happening.

Turn the 5 into another 2 or something and I think shoving is mandatory. As it stands I just think there might be many two pair and straight hands out there.

Wouldn't hate a shove, I just think it's really thin.

He does have a number of two-pair hands in his range, but for $14 I'd ship it. He won't fold any pair. Might even call with high cards.

Results, because I think this is kinda indicative of a fish's calling range.

Hero shows Q♠ 9
Hero wins $54.86 USD from main pot
Fish mucks 79

And just a quick reminder to all those guys playing $10NL & under, when playing against fish, you need to be willing to value bet thinner. Why you ask?

1) Fish will call with a crazy wide range.
2) Fish don't keep their money for long, so waiting for a better spot may not come along before they go broke.
3) If we lose, we're more likely to get our money back from them.

So what was your action on the river? Did you push? Didn't see it in there.

Yeah, I bet the amount he had in his stack. Figured with as much as there was in the middle, he was calling with all his 9's, maybe like 6x, 77, 88.

I was thinking more along the ch/c line..let him bluff away on the end but it seems like your play was good. Also, live your three reasons at the bottom. Well played imo.

1) I don't think stationy fish bluff much.
2) The board is scary, so its unlikely he'll bet hands with showdown value.
3) Because the board is scary, he may be able to convince himself that I am bluffing, plus he's committed.

I just think by check/calling, we're letting him check behind hands I beat and bet hands that beat me. I think it goes shove > x/f >>>> x/c.
