Thought on Villains Range and how played by Hero?
Table is preety weak / passive overall, alot of limping and folding to a raise etc.
Villain is probably like 27/9 or something close, preety straight forward player and very average IMO , havent seen too many
of his showdowns to draw any major conclusions.
Hero has a preety good image , has been playing TAG style and hasnt played a hand due to being card dead for about 15-20 min or so.
HERO STACK $1100
VILLAIN STACK $600
Action
PRE UTG limps , limp , limp , Fold , Fold, Fold, Hero in CO raises to $35 with 5c 3c, Folds all around Hero in UTG +1 Calls
Flop ($87) Ac 7c 10c Villain Donks $40, hero Raises $90, Villain Calls
Turn ($267) 2h Villain Bets $100 , Hero Raises to $300 , Villain calls
River ($867) 9d Villain is all in for $175, Hero calls

Raise more on the flop, prob just above pot.
When he donks again on turn, (assuming he bets more on turn now that the pot is bigger as you have raised more on flop),shove.
But fold pre is obv way better.

fold pre. dont raise turn and not put him all in. all combos of bigger flushes are there but so are sets pairs and random 2pair.

I know that everyone is going to say fold pre , and 8 out of 10 times im folding this pre , but dont we need to balance our range alittle or do we only pull this moove with premium ?
I think id rather do this with 5 3 suited than KJ, A3 and QJ type hands as the above can have reverse implied odds , and the small connectors are easier folded if we dont hit hard.
IMO mooves like these occassionaly keep us unpredictable and harder to read, pluss it alows us to get paid when we do it with premium, Thoughts?

So there is probably more sets, 2 pair and pair+draw combos than flush combos in villains range on the turn ? shouldnt we be betting turn for value :dontknow:

balancing for balancings sake is bad. mainly because no-one at your table will notice you do this with 53 suited every once in a while and adjust, and so they wouldnt notice (enough to adjust) that you only do this with the stronger parts of your range.

if you're playing this hand to hit hard then why are we raising? its live, they never fold pre so we adjust by raising our better hands IP for value and the fact we can outplay people IP postflop.

and by outplay I don't mean bluff 3 streets every time but to value bet them relentlessly when they hang on with 2nd/bottom pair etc.

I only want to be overlimping with small PP's live, especially 200bbs deep vs fish.

but then again, i'm an online kid.

umm postflop: raise flop a lot bigger ($120/150 sounds good to me), he's not letting go of too much of his donking range imo and you want to get it in on turns since any club ruins your hand/action if your hands still good.

when he donks the turn just shove, he's clearly got no clue what hes doing and will snap off with his Ax, pay you and leave.

happy ever after right? :)
