$50 NLHEFull Ring: Pkt aces UTG - BTN flats pre & my flop bet - Floating to steal or hit set?

No stats on villian.

How aggressive should I play these (pkt aces) after a flat on flop & a 3rd spade on turn?

I bet again but you have to be willing to fold if he raises. What's your note on him say? Are you generally comfortable playing 200bb deep?

I didn't take that note until after the hand was over so that's why it shows up there LOL. If I tell you what it says, then it will ruin how the hand played out.

And yes.

His range crushes yours on boards like this. I think I just vomit in my mouth a little, and cry.

I guess this mostly just comes down to any reads here. Given he's deep, he's probably decent, and will likely float this flop a lot, and he never has a set. So I'd probs go ahead and bet/fold here. But any good opponent should be raising the turn with a huge variety of semi-bluffs if they're anywhere near competent.

I think I bet/fold but it sucks. A lot.

EDIT: Just noticed it's 200bb's deep, really, really shitty spot.

Raise at least to 3.5 or 4bb preflop from EP. You're going to play a tight range oop from there, so you should do as much as you can to decrease the SPR. Raising 2.5bb makes no sense whatsoever.

If you think he floats overcards and things like that, check-calling makes the most sense to make value from his whole floating range that will obviously fire the flushing scare card. If he's just a passive fish, bet-folding is best.

He pretty much never has a set, a made straight or two pairs here if he's decent since those would raise the flop. So you're typically against made flushes, straight draws, one pair hands (either connecting the board or as an overpair) and sometimes overcards if villain likes to float. It's not a range that really crushes you at this point.

I don't understand how you can write both of the sentences in the same post. you realize they contradict each other, don't you?

Yes, but I'm weak/tight and I don't like check/calling a bunch :(

I also assume that this guy isn't competent until he proves otherwise. Honestly, I don't think there's a huge difference between x/c and b/f, especially given how many terrible river cards there are that if he's bluffing, he'll be able to bluff us with. So I went with the obvious choice of saying bet/fold, while giving him reasons to check/call :D

I don't think most NL50 villains are capable of bluffraising this turn if we bet it. There are still plenty of hands villain can continue with that we're beating.
