I am not that experienced in HU poker but was giving it a shot and ended up with these 2 hands with the same player. Do you suppose I went a bit over board and should have played less aggressively? Would you have folded pre in both hands?

The first hand is followed by the second hand just a few hands later. In the second hand I am a little steaming but still under control.

So basically would you say that this is just standard HU variance or I played badly?

I feel the first hand is fine but the second one I should just be calling on the flop or not make a committing raise.

first hand isnt fine as youre stacking to a c/r from the aggressor, which is overpair/fd min, therefore you obv have little to no FE with your shove and therefore isnt close to best.

second hand, as you suggested, your flop raise is way too big. should be in the range of 25-30bb IMO

Don't post results. Even if we don't intend to, our advice can be skewed slightly because of results.

well, as a player with a lot experience on HU, I can notice that you already have answer on your questions; it is standard HU variance and you play badly in both cases. ;)

I suppose I should not have played HU at such a high level when I am not supposed to be very good at it. In a 6 max game I only play these sort of hands in LP and that also depends a lot on who the players are on my left.

I suppose after the flop I would have ended up playing the FD with bottom pair aggressively but on a regular table I am not exactly going bonkers with the 9T hand.

Well considering this was a heads up situation i don't think you could have gotten away with both the hands posted.

You had to get your chips in both the hands so your play is just fine. It's just unlucky that you came second in both as you had strong hands in both the situation and there is no getting away from such hands during heads up play.

Well played - good luck next time around. :)
