Both are regs opener is running a 13/10 and the 3 bettor was running a 19/16 with a 3b of 5%.

I figured if i hit a set i will be able to win a huge pot and get the other guy to call aswell, i called the flop to try and keep the other player in and try get him to call/raise random draws he may have. Wanted to fold the river but i dont think i can fold? But ye im bad

Fold pre. Raise flop. As played there is no way we should be folding once we flop the set though. UTG+1 has MAYBE 2 combos of flush and 3 of JJ that beat us on the river imo.

Your being way too hard on yourself here.

The flat pre could go either way heck almost every decision in this hand could. I personally like it as UTG+2s range is so damn strong here and we're 200bb deep we're going to get paid off well when we hit.

Whether to raise the flop or not could go either way and I feel slagging it off would be hindsight of the flushed turn and UTG+1 waking up. Flatting to keep the other villain in and let overpairs bet themselves in to being commited on the turn. I would side with raising the flop simply because UTG+2 is the villain we think as KK+ and is 200bb deep, stacking them is a priority over maybe getting a bet or two from UTG+1 who is likely just set mining like us, if he hit he won;t fold even to this raise.

The turn raise is fine, we can;t just flat such a tiny bet with so few combos of flush out there and have QsQ+ draw out on us for free.

The river we are probably ****ed but we've got lol odds, weaker sets sjould get us through the JJ/AsKs/AsQs hands that we will see most the time.

i disagree. ducky coldcalling a 3b here is super unstandard for him (i fkn hope lol) and villain will (read; should) pick this up and think hes coming along to the flop with a mid PP hand- and consequently be very wary of sets and not play for stacks.

if i coudlnt see holecards here, id have ducky on JJ all streets considered

Problem with cold-calling is that, as Jchoop said, his hand is pretty much face-up as 88-JJ. The real problem is that two nits are raising each other in EP, you're going to see a 4-bet a large portion of the time. Not raising flop is just horrible.

Yeah I think the likelihood of getting 4bet outweighs the depth of stacks preflop.

Ye i decided to flat the flop to disguise my hand a little bit as sets would obviously raise the flop and i was trying to get maximum value from both players.I raised the turn bet as it was so small for the reasons Deco said. But i realise raising the flop was just tard'd. Wondering if the river could be a fold ever? But the river odds were just like ok then ffs i call lol

Folding river is bad imo.

{33,55} = 6combos
{AsQs, AsKs, JJ} = 5 combos

Sure 33/55 should be heavily negated, they may not open preflop and likely raise the flop but we need to be good like 22% of the time here. We only need villain to have a little more than 1 combo of weaker set!

I fold this pre unless closing the action - they are deep enough to set-mine here. Def raise the flop.
