$50 NL HE Full Ring: FR table light 3 bet vs overcall.

Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 12/8/2

Guys, tbh Im totally lost here, I never play short handed, and tbh am I giving the overcaller too much credit here, or is this a totally bet-fold spot ? Villian in the BB is a reg, and not used to playing short either.

I really hate 3betting A rag off suit oop, but as played i think bet/folding is definitely the best line here. A 12/8 cold calling range is probably TT-QQ, maybe the occasional AA trying to trap here and AK. I think bet/folding is by far the optimal line on this flop oop. If villain has TT or JJ he is never bluffing at this pot and it would be a mistake to check to him and let him take a free card, giving him infinite odds to draw to his 2 outter. So I bet and if he calls your bet, ch/f turn or river and if he raises obv fold.

Cheers for the reply BW. Why do you hate the 3-bet though ? Especially against a FR player that is out of their comfort zone, my thought is that this is an ideal 3bet spot. On a full table against this player i fold as a standard line. I probably should have said that the table dynamic had changed shit loads in the OP and tbh i was leaving the table until i seen the amount of LP steals that was going on, table of reg's as well. So from what i could see probaby very explotiable, 3betting A-x from the sb is probably still silly though.

I hate 3betting A rag oop b/c its so hard to play postflop. A lot of time u will hit an A and end up losing a ton of money to a better Ace or u will totally whiff vs an opponent who has a pretty strong range. Theres just not many flops at all that are good for an A rag offsuit type hand. I'd much rather 3bet a hand like T9s or even 96s b/c theres so many nut hands/draws that u can flop. Basically u will flop the nuts/really good draw or u will totally whiff where u can cbet and fold easily. With A rag u flop a ton of second best hands that u will be paying off. I'm slightly drunk but I think thats a good analysis for u.

I can give pretty good analysis that i am far drunker than you BW :)

Still though, against dudes (most decent regs) that steal a ton from LP, why can't we 3 bet loads here with lots of hands, especially if we can get away post flop when we get in trouble (called/raised) ? FS I 4 bet with A-x from the button against weak I-donker regs.

"hard" to play post flop at the moment to me is a bit of a strange comment, A-x is pretty easy to play post flop imo especially in a 3-bet flop even when we hit. OK I can get floated and bluf raised, but im certainly not stacking or getting anywhere close to it. I'm always bet-folding an Ace high flop, stacking 2pair + and giving up lots. I win lots of steals as well though and fold out lots of mid pairs with a c-bet vs bad reg's.
