BB is 9/6 over 40 hands, CO is 19/8
I couldn't really find a reason for betting in this pot. I don't think we have much showdown value vs BBs range and he is unlikely to fold AK or KK...
Is this just a good time to give up on this hand and throw it in the muck?

Well yeah even though his line is weird some people do slow play, or he might have binked KQ/TT. I don't see anything that's air in his range here.

That's what I was thinking. Anywhere here that you would consider leading out?

No I don't think so. I mean after we see the turn gets checked around it looks like maybe we could have won the pot with a turn bet but we don't have that info and it's pretty probable we would have got a caller anyway.

I guess you could thin value bet really small to try and get value from 77-TT, JTs, QJ, KJ or even KQ, knowing you will lose to any Ax or slow played monster.

You can be in a tough spot if one of them decides you're bluffing and re-bluffs you though. Thin value betting is something I haven't yet implemented into my game, just recently learned the concept

Is there a thread or article on Cardschat on thin value betting?

UTG+2 ($50)

Dealt to Hero Q Q

fold, fold, UTG+2 raises to $1.75, fold, CO calls $1.75, fold, Hero raises to $7.50, BB calls $7, fold, CO calls $5.75

FLOP ($24.25) J A 5

Hero checks, BB checks, CO checks

RIVER ($24.25) J A 5 6 T

Hero checks, BB bets $19, CO folds, Hero

What was UTG+2 running? Also, let's say he was running like 9/6 and raises and the CO calls. Are you ever flatting or are you always 3-betting? As played though I'm always folding river.

UTG+2 was 21/17. Only had 100 hands and no fold to 3 bet stats yet.

At the time I was thinking by squeezing we could pick up what was already in the pot when they fold or build a decent sized pot for the times we flop an overpair or even a set. I think this is Ok as it allows us to pick up the pot pre flop or sets us up for a fairly profitable spot post flop (although being oop in a 3 bet pot sucks).

By calling behind we have great implied odds from hands like 99, TT, JJ when we see a low flop. We will see a multiway flop with a high SPR so we have a lot of flexibility in how we play our hand post flop. It is easier to get away from our hand in a small pot oop without investing too much.

If it was a nit opening from UTG+2 I think we would be better off calling as he will fold almost all hands that we beat so we are much less likely to get value from him post flop.
