$50 NL HE Full Ring: 50NL Frustrating Scenario Vs Unknown

I'm in UTG+1 with $50.
Villian has just entered the table in MP.

I'm dealt QQ. I raise to $4.
Villian calls, everyone else folds.

Flop comes

3h 6d 9s

I raise $7. Villian calls.

Turn comes 9c

I raise $14. Villain calls.

River comes 4h.

I check. Villain goes all in ($31.)

Hero???

probably a bluff with high cards Ak ot Aj or maybe over pair like JJ or TT. I think he found your weak spot when you checked on the river, I think he thought you missed the hand with your over cards or something like that, I dont believe he would call this hand with X-9, however, there is always a chance that this dude is a maniak....

This is ugly as hell. You showed a lot of weakness by checking the river here. Its a rough spot. I think you have to call. the pot is 50 at this point, and its only really 25 to you(its all you've got left) and a whoooole lot of bluff is in his range. I think with your stack in this spot all you could really do was check/call the river, you committed yourself with the turn bet. Any hand that could call your 3rd barrel short of a tiny tiny river bet has you beat, but a lot of hands check down or bluff into you on this river, and for the pot:bet ratio I think you're calling here an awful lot.

Ideally I think here you need to be firing harder so that you have more/all of it in on the turn, or not bother with that turn bet if you're giving up to a rag river.

Turn bet is little too small. You should be very willing to commit here so go ahead and make a bet that makes the river an easy shove or go for the turn ch/r if you think you villain will bet if checked to.

I'm agreeing with all of your advice. Looking back, I think I should have called. I just didn't want to lose all of what I had been working for in one hand. I think I was having a winning session before this. Eh, whatever. I'll get over it. What do you think my turn bet should have been? $18?

Hmm the more I look at it the more I think the line you took might be optimal, with calling the river. You cbet near pot sized, so he thinks you're looking to just take it down, and thinks I'll show him. Then the turn bet dialing back shows fear, which widens his call range further and increases his likelihood of a river bluff when you check to him with the intent of inducing it.

If we make a big strong turn cbet I think we restrict his range further, and make his river shove over us range more towards hands that beat us. And I'm still thinking that the only way a river jam gets called by a hand that doesn't beat us is A9, a very odd hand to have limped with, or maybe AK. I came to this determination while trying to decide what I think a good larger turn bet would have been, and the only thing that seemed reasonable to me was a jam hoping to solidify his read on you as cbetting with nothing.

Maybe bump up the turn a buck or two.

probably a pot size, I guess its something around 22$, my suggestion about not willing to loose is that you should play lower stakes,
