$50 NL HE Full Ring: [50 NL FR] AK: to stack or not to stack (preflop)
Here's the situation, sorry no formal hand history...
But the general question has been talked about before I know, I'm just wonder what the thoughts are in this situation. If your answer is yes, stack it (or at least 3b with the intention of stacking), why? If no, what conditions if any would change your mind?
In the situation at hand I have a suspicion that the villain is a maniac or at least very bad but I don't have enough hands to conclusively prove it. Here's the situation.
I have 20 hands on the villain. In that span, he has flatted 2 3bets oop and has 3 bet himself 2 more times. He seems very aggressive and is running along the lines of 28/18 or so over 20 hands.
The one hand that got to showdown, he flats a 3b from MP with AQo, and stacks off on an AK4 rainbow. (so we know he will stack down TP/Good Kicker)
So... we are dealt AKs in the BB.
Villain is on the BTN and there is another 70/5 loose passive type in the HJ. All involved have 100bb.
HJ limps (as he always does), BTN raises to 4bb and we have AKs in the BB.
I feel like if I 3b that I'm at least getting called and possibly 4b so if I want to 3b I need to know how I'm going to respond to a 4b. If my plan is to fold to the 4b, I'm better off just flatting. If my plan is not to fold then that effectively puts me all in preflop.
The other wildcard is that if I just flat, the 70/5 will most likely come along as well and I'll be oop multiway. I expect the 70/5 to go away to a 3b. Even if the 70/5 folds out I'm still oop.
So... flat it or 3bet it?
