Villain is a fish. My plan was to shove on a brick river, but what do I do when the board pairs? I'm pretty sure that calling the 1/2 pot bet is right, but what if he had jammed? Thanks everyone.

Bet the flop larger, because they will call. And I probably shove the river as well for the same reason.

i dont like the bet sizing at all in all straights, it's very low in my opinnion u need to push hard to extract max value the flop bet is less than the pre flop bet that's not right for me.

I think the flop bet is fine. It gauges interest on the villain's part. Would be interested to know how Hero would have responded to a raise on the flop bet and barrel on the turn.

What they said-- if the villain is a fish, you can use more unbalanced sizing and still expect to get calls. What do you expect them to call a pot-sized bet with? Almost any king, right? And they're raising if they have King/jack or any set. You made an exponential mistake, unable to get all of the money in on the river because of poor flop sizing. It also makes it pretty damn clear that just about the only thing they're going to call you with on the flop that ends up beating you is AJ. Shovel that money in when it's good.

You played it perfectly.
If you shove on a brick river do you think he will call with k9? Depends on the player I think.
When the board pairs with a J this is good for your opponents range - not yours. Check calling is the only option here.

Why do you think hes a fish as you have only 6 hands of him?

And if hes a fish is he a passive fish (calling station and if hes get active he has it) or an aggro fish always trying to bluff you out off a hand like top pair?

Anyways against fish bet bigger on the flop your flop bet is less then 1/3 pot bet which is not making use of the fact that hes a fish he has the odds to call with almost any hand that connect to board somehow.

At the river if hes a real passive fish aka calling station and only bets when they have a hand it is a fold at the river.

Lol. Apparently an aggro fish type (or a passive fish overvaluing top pair after your check on the river)

Typical passive fish in 6max (my levels, stars) will value top pair to the roof, especially if board is paired. Their passiveness is more like a calling station type, so had hero shoved villain might make a call.

At the river if hes a real passive fish aka calling station and only bets when they have a hand it is a fold at the river.
I think you are right, if we indeed know he is passive fish, we should fold to shove.

If hes a fish then bet 3/4 pot+ for value. Save your 1/3 pot for regs.
As played I bet the river for value from Kx and fold to a jam.

I like how you play pre flop, flop, turn, and the river as well. But I think we can approach this river another way, I would bet 57bb on this river because I think people would have fold on this turn with Jx unless you have some history with the guy. If he showed up with a J on this river; that's poker.
