$50 NL HE 6-max: Rush 6-max: Flop bottom 2, check back turn?

Villain is a complete unknown. Checking back and calling a bet on the river is probably standard? Would bet/folding the turn would be better so we can set our price as I doubt we get bluff raised often?

full tilt poker $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

BTN: $183.35
SB: $59.65
BB: $50.00
Hero (UTG): $56.70
MP: $50.00
CO: $109.00

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is UTG with T 9
Hero raises to $1.50, 4 folds, BB calls $1

Flop: ($3.25) 9 T Q (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2.25, BB calls $2.25

Turn: ($7.75) 8 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero ???

Off the top I think I like bet/fold best in this spot... I agree he's probably not raising anything but a straight

What is the plan if we bet and are called?

Wtf bet/fold? Are you smoking crack? We have 13 outs to shit that beats his likely hand, and almost nothing we beat calls!

I'd pretty much always check this back.

I agree, I'd check it back as well. I think a C/R occurs more often than not in this spot if he has a jack.

yeah you are right... was thinking about this later and i dunno what i was thinking.

I should probably avoid hold em threads till I actually start playing it more frequently... I'm thinking like an omaha player where he has to have JKxx or J7xx on that flop to have a straight, and a random J isn't worth that much and people will fold that flop most of the time without one of those 2 hands (and giving free cards to hands that aren't the nuts can be a much worse idea)

Honestly I probably picked a bad hand to discuss because we did pick up the FD here.

Checking behind this hand, will check behind most of the time even if the turn didnt bring us a flush draw..
If the flop had a flush draw and turned an offsuit 8.. then i think i fire the turn more often..
