Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 22/17/45

Full Tilt - $0.50 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

MP: $42.35
CO: $50.50
BTN: $65.35
SB: $26.85
BB: $64.60
Hero (UTG): $55.65

SB posts SB $0.25, BB posts BB $0.50

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero has J♠ J♦

Hero raises to $1.50, fold, CO calls $1.50, BTN calls $1.50, SB calls $1.25, BB calls $1.00

Flop: ($7.50, 5 players) 2♠ 8♣ 7♠
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $5.00, fold, BTN calls $5.00, SB calls $5.00, fold

Turn: ($22.50, 3 players) Q♣
SB checks, Hero bets $15.00, BTN raises to $58.85 and is all-in,

I bet the turn trying to pretty much town the SB who was a 57/14 and my reason for being at this table. No real reads on BTN bar the hud stats.

(sry for the suit colours idk why it keeps doing that.)

You say he's a reg in the title but know nothing about him? Ever seen this sort of aggression from him without a hand?

Too many tables on the go to really pick up on anything. nothing vs me anyway. I had 468 hands on him and his HUD stats were pretty indicative of a player who at least as some idea of how to play decent poker so I assumed he must be some sort of reg. I think this is a fair assumption no?

You're beat here way too often to call ime. Villain has a set/2pair/AsQs/KsQs pretty much every time. I mean what do you think he could show up with here that you beat? 9cTc? TT?

Betting the turn is fine given that the BTN will generally fold and the SB will likely call given your read. But it's a bet/fold when the BTN shoves.

Edit: Just ran this though Stove and even if BTN does this with sets/87/AsQs/KsQs/9cTc/and ALL non-set underpairs (33,44, etc.) you only have 18% equity. Fold quickly.

yep, +1 to everything WVH said.

Clear turn bet for value (plenty of worse pairs and draws will call, sets/78 usually raise flop, Qx is unlikely), and the raise is a) never a bluff and b) rarely a draw. He just never gets to the turn with air, and when we have him beat it's the rare occasion he's got a big draw, in which case he has pretty decent equity against us.

There are times I'm snapping this against bad aggrofish but in general without the read that he spazzes with 99 or 53s or whatever here, I just assume the raise means he has the nuts or turned TP or whatever.

For the most part, raises from fish in single raised pots = the nuts.

Super easy fold here. I can't think of a single reasonable hand that you beat. Also consider that he's raising not only you, but the SB as well, generally meaning he has a much stronger hand than perhaps he would in a heads up pot.

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero has J:spade: J:diamond:

Hero raises to $1.50, fold, CO calls $1.50, BTN calls $1.50, SB calls $1.25, BB calls $1.00

Flop: ($7.50, 5 players) 2:spade: 8:club: 7:spade:
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $5.00, fold, BTN calls $5.00, SB calls $5.00, fold

Turn: ($22.50, 3 players) Q:club:
SB checks, Hero bets $15.00, BTN raises to $58.85 and is all-in, fold, Hero calls $34.15 and is all-in

River: ($120.80, 2 players) 4:club:

BTN shows T:spade: T:club: (One Pair, Tens) (PreFlop 18%, Flop 10%, Turn 5%)
Hero shows J:spade: J:diamond: (One Pair, Jacks) (PreFlop 82%, Flop 90%, Turn 95%)
Hero wins $117.80

Suprising results. I called at the time due to tiltish factors of everyone is trying to run over me post flop at this new level. And at the time couldn't make sense of his shove.

As long as you understand the call was bad and you will lose money making it and you never do it again, you're fine.

Foldy fold fold fold. He has a set almost every single time. Now ... I just saw what he really had but tbh this is a bad call unless you had some crazy note on him already.
